I'm finally getting my Seawitch back together and realized I still have to clean the apron. Having heard my share of horror stories (ruined art/paint loss) in regard to the task, I was wondering how you all manage it. Is there any sure-fire way that will not damage the paint, even if it takes a bit more elbow grease and/or time? Which cleaners are safe?

Interested in this too. Ruined a Stern apron once trying to get some rock hard adhesive labels off....never again. Not sure what was the worst, but rubbing excessively with alcohol was a BAD thing, so I advise don't do that.

I'm probably gonna go for a decal for my apron eventually. Too many scratches.

Powdercoat it white and then install a new color matching decal for that machine. I just did this recently and spent $45 total and it is like brand new.

Don't even try to clean the silkscreened paint, it usually comes off.

The blue on mine came off with clear water. But if you decide to replace the decal you need to read this:

Hope this helps.

vid1900 is there any good way to clean an apron to make it look shiny and new? I too have issues with paint loss. Sometimes novus2 works, others it does not. Sometimes even wax was taking paint off. Now I just use water to get dirt off. I would like to find something to polish it with to shine it up. Any thoughts?
