I am curious to know what methods and cleaners can be used to remove the brown film/dirt on the back of the translite.

I’ve used novus 1 and a soft microfiber cloth with good results.

Edit: I’ve always been leery about the white backing coming off, and would not recommend any solvents or alcohol. Even windex is risky for that I think.

I used rubbing alcohol on my pinbot and it worked great.

Thank you for your suggestions, I end up using some dish detergent after I tried the novus 1 and rubbing alcohol. The rubbing alcohol seemed to take some of the white off

Don't use anything like rubbing alcohol, it's possible to melt the white layer away, trust me I found out the hard way.

Ok, so any help now that I read this thread AFTER I cleaned the back of my translite too aggressively? What type of white paint is recommended to fix masking?

Probably best to lock the image in first

I have to agree. But I'm not sure what to tell you what to use. Triple thick? I'm not sure how it will react to the translite.

This was a plastic BBBB translite so I never thought to triple thick it like I do my glass. Live and learn. It was extremely smoke stained.
