Test the switch by rolling the ball over it, making adjustments until it registers properly. A switch like that you can adjust with your fingers, needle-nose pliers, or a leaf switch adjustment tool. Be careful not to stress it too much where it attaches to the plastic nubs - you don't want to break them or you will need a new switch.

Just bend the wires, more or less of an angle, at the existing bends.
