Hi, could someone please explicitly explain how you adjust the 5v Pot on an 80B Power Supply.

I my Genesis is going haywire, rebooting, playing music and flashing lights during attract mode as if it’s playing a game.

I think the 5v is the cause.

Thanks

Thanks, however I read that and it wasn’t detailed enough for me.

The way I like to do it

Take a volt meter and put across the capacitor on the CPU where the 5 volts come in. Basically you right on the 5 volt and ground on the cpu

Turn game on. I like to set this at just over 5 volt here. Like 5.05 or 5.10 volts

Adjust this voltage on the regulator. This is the board with the large heat sink. There is a small blue pot on here. Make very slight and slow adjustments to get the desired voltage.

Thank you sir. Will give it a shot

I liked your method, it was straightforward. I’ve attached a photo for archival purposes showing how it’s done.

Nice work.

For future reference, Todd also explains the adjustment toward the end of the video:

The only difference is he makes an initial adjustment with the MPU power disconnected to make sure the supply is not overly high/low, then connects the MPU to dial in the supply while under load.
