Given: Wayne in Australia had announced he was remaking MM years ago, but he never did, despite repeated prodding by collectors.
Given: Rick at Planetary Pinball announces he is remaking MM, and is doing it immediately.
Given: Planetary Pinball within 24 Hours sells over 1000 units, with a $1000 per deposit (that over $1M).

My opinion: Rick is going to make some fantastic money on the remakes. Wayne had, and now has lost the opportunity.
My opinion: If I was Wayne, I would be sick to my stomach about blowing this opportunity.

A bit premature as nothing has been shipped to a paying customer yet.

Agreed, but my gut is telling me it is going to happen.

Beginning and end of story, right there.

#5 10 years ago

Wayne still has the opportunity, he's remaking the games true to original spec.

#6 10 years ago

Wayne is relieved because PPS has stated that any of Wayne's customers can have their order fulfilled by them.

Win/Win/Win for all 3 parties.

#7 10 years ago

Who cares what Wayne thinks or how he feels. He's old news . Let's tip our hats to Planetary and Rick for actually doing something , not just talking about it for years.

#8 10 years ago

He is selling them so not too upset I think!

#9 10 years ago

I don't think he is. He already made a ton of money on interest from holding on to everyones money. Plus the exchange rate decline when everyone got the refund back. Worked out pretty well.

#10 10 years ago

Probably not too upset since he won the WoZ last night in Doughslingers raffle lol!

He might even get a cut from each of the remakes. Hmmmm?

It's not that Wayne didn't want to make the remakes, the fact that Wayne had a definitive lack of progress on his part I don't think he's upset either way.

And what's up with him winning the WOZ? How many tickets did he buy anyway?

I'm sure he is.

jeeze. who cares

He was too busy making big promises, making threats with legal action against people making mods, parts or whatever else pinball related that had anything to do with bally/williams, that he either didn't get a cut on or couldn't produce.

l hope a Kangaroo takes a big dump on his lawn.

Yes. He did hold pinball back in a lot of ways with his over zealous chasing of copyright protection.

Glad we are moving on with more energetic entrepreneurs.

Isn't Wayne providing the parts stash that he was accumulating for the build? Isn't Wayne the authorized distributor for the game in Oz? My guess is that he has been working with PPS to get it done.

#19 10 years ago

there's a saying, you snooze you lose. Pinball is moving fast

#20 10 years ago

Clearly Wayne is involved in this deal. I'm sure he's happy it's getting done.

Do you think he has 2000-3000 of anything in stock for the build?

There are going to be mega MMs hitting the streets in short order.

Yep!

Wayne sort of disappeared there for a little while but is now the Australian JJP distributor and will also be the Aus MM distributor AFAIK. Think of all the MM parts he has had laying around and trying to sell for ages on eBay. I reckon he will be both very relieved and very happy.

I think selling the rights back to the USA would make you all Happy

What else do you want from me my next new born as well?

Buy Wayne's newborn: receive a teenager years and years and years and years later.

I know stopping the odd habit of capitalizing random words would make me happy... but you've been doing it forever so I don't think this is gonna change

No, I'll settle for a Crocodile Hunter pinny.

A little birdy visited and said that my guess was wrong.
