Yep, and I don't understand this obsession people have with cost?

I've started asking "Why? Are you looking to buy one?" and not giving an answer.

I even had a parent of a friend call in to drop off a PC for repair with someone I had never met, and we got to talking cars etc as you do, so she says to me "What would that old car of yours be worth now?"

I don't know if these people are looking to buy my stuff or steal my stuff.....

I guess it's just never occurred to me to ask someone else the cost of their holiday, new car, tennis lessons, kitchen renovation or mistress because IT'S NONE OF MY BUSINESS and I don't see how me knowing these things either enhances or reduces our relationship?
