Hi Guys,

Here is how I see the scoring on Star Trek.

The base value of a mission is:
For Level 1 mission: 100 000 + 15 000 x (Number of shot level 1) + 30 000 x (Number of Shot level 2) + 45 000 x (Number of shot level 3)
For Level 2 mission: 200 000 + 15 000 x (Number of shot level 1) + 30 000 x (Number of Shot level 2) + 45 000 x (Number of shot level 3)
For Level 3 mission: 300 000 + 15 000 x (Number of shot level 1) + 30 000 x (Number of Shot level 2) + 45 000 x (Number of shot level 3)

Each shot on a Mission Level 1 increase by 45 000 pts.
Each shot on a Mission Level 2 increase by 60 000 pts.
Each shot on a Mission Level 3 increase by 75 000 pts.

You can double score for combo shots (or dual color on missions lvl.2 or 3), or even quadruple score for a combo on a dual color shots during a mission lvl.2 or 3.

Every 3 shots on missions level 1 you win a medal. And every 2 or 3 shots on a dual color shot during missions level 2 or 3.
Bronze medal score 250 000 (+ 125 000 for any other one)
Sylver medal score 450 000 (+ 175 000…)
Gold medal score 1 000 000 (+ 275 000…)
You can use combo on the medals scores.

Every 6 missions of a level done, before each mini wizard mode, you got a bonus for your medals:
On level 1:
Bronze medals score 1 000 000 each (10 000 000 for a set of 6)
Silver medals score 1 500 000 each (15 000 000 for a set of 6)
Gold medals score 2 500 000 each (25 000 000 for a set of 6)
It increase for level 2 and 3, of course…

do you see something wrong here?

I’m not fluent in english so i’m quite afraid to make some grammar mistake. That’s why i’m a bit shy on the forum.
I love read rules of pinball, quite like the mustang one. I really appreciate a pinball when i understand it. So i spent quite a lot of time filming my game and i analyse scoring on a excel tab. I make a few tries glass off to confirm some ideas too…
I think this is the main way of scoring during modes, sometimes there is some extra bonus in the mode total that i still don’t understand. But most of time it works.

There is still a problem when you loose ball. I make my test with one ball. The base value reduce after losing a ball. Need to be determine...

That's it, You can start a mission level 1 and have already done a level 2 and 3.
So the base value will be 100k (for a mission level 1) + 15k per shot of the previous missions level 1 you have done + 30k per shot of missions Level 2 + 45k per shot of missions level 3.
I give you a screen shot of my excel tab for exemple (sorry it's in french but you can easily understand the numbers).
First mission: Space Jump I : 1 shot= 100 000
Second mission: Space Jump II: Base value= 200k+ 1 x 15k= 215k. I have done 6 shots increasing by 60k.
Third mission: Save the Enterprise I: Base Value= 100k + 1 x 15k + 6 x 30k = 295k.
etc...

Thanks,
Shot level 2 means a shot with flashing arrow during a level 2 mission.
In my exemple (excel tab), i have done:
1 shot during Space Jump I
6 shots during Space Jump II
2 shots during Save the Enterprise I
So for the next mission, here Space jump III, the base value is:
300 000 (mission level III) + 15k x 3 (1 shot during SJ I & 2 shots during StE I) + 30k x 6 (6 shots during SJ II) = 525k

This works if you don't lose ball. I try to understand the decrease of the base value after lose a ball...

Quoted from rai:

Does base value mean how much each shot is worth in that mission?

Base Value means Starting value, sorry the word "base" is maybe inappropriate in english..??..
And so from this starting value you add per shots during the active mission:
45k during Missions level I
60k during Missions level II
75k during Missions level III
But this shots, for the starting value of the next mission will only worth 15/30/45k.

Quoted from pinballophobe:

I see now. Thanks the great work and clarification. This goes along way to calculating in theory the easiest or best way for points
What about away missions. I how wonder they affect scoring down the road.
I'm thinking a KB 1 would be the best starting mission as it always gives the players 4-5 of the easier shots and the KB 2 as it really fast and easy to nail the alpha ramp 6x

I don't have try to understand away team yet...
For the strategic point, i agree it's should be good to take easiest shot of missions level II to increase the starting value of the other missions level I.

Quoted from pinballophobe:

If I'm understanding your question correctly it is. The base value is calculated with guitoones formula and then each successful shot increments from there. So hypothetically. Say u were on your last mission of the game. (18th mission) and you were still on the first ball and you have 17 gold medals. Your last mission base value would be something like 3M and since most of the multipliers are lit. That's and easy 6M per shot

That's seems to be right! But you have to do this without lose a ball. The starting Value may be really impressive!

I have made a video to see the scoring in game. if you want to see it :

It may be more clear in that way? :

The starting value of a mission is:
For Level 1 mission: 100 000 + Previous Shots value.
For Level 2 mission: 200 000 + Previous Shots value.
For Level 3 mission: 300 000 + Previous Shots value.

Previous Shots value=
15 000 x Number of shot level 1 from your last ball lost +
5 000 x Number of shot level 1 before your last ball lost +
30 000 x Number of shot level 2 from your last ball lost +
10 000 x Number of shot level 2 before your last ball lost +
45 000 x Number of shot level 3 from your last ball lost +
15 000 x Number of shot level 3 before your last ball lost +

Each shot on a Mission Level 1 increase by 45 000 pts.
Each shot on a Mission Level 2 increase by 60 000 pts.
Each shot on a Mission Level 3 increase by 75 000 pts.

You can double score for combo shots (or dual color on missions lvl.2 or 3),
or even quadruple score for a combo on a dual color shots during a mission lvl.2 or 3.

Need to understand now, how works the away team and the different multiballs...

#67 8 years ago

Thank you very much.
For exemple.
You play Space Jump I and do 5 shots
You lose the ball
You play Prime Directive I and do 3 shots.
For the next mission ex. StE I Starting Value will be 100 000 + 5 x 5k + 3 x 15k
The number of ball before your last ball lost is the 5 shots of Space Jump I
The number of ball from your last ball lost is the 3 of Prime Directive I
Tell me if there is a better way to explain that, it's probably due to my english...

#74 8 years ago
Quoted from Nokoro:

I get it. By saying "from your last ball lost" you mean "from your current ball."
And by saying "before your last ball lost" you mean "from prior balls."
Did I get that right?

That's it! Sorry if i wasn't clear...

For the strategic point, it's sure that it seems interesting to get the easiest mission Level II and III to increase the starting value of the next mission. 45K per shot for level III shots is huge compare to Level I.
Notice that there is usually a timing for level III mission, and if you miss on first try (and it often the case), the second try will give only one shot as level III and the other as level I. So there is no need to try and retry a level III mission, except if you want the 3 in a column bonus of X2 for one of the 6 mains shots.
It don't seems to have any penalty to retry a level II mission...???

This is "Galactic Away Team". After the first shot in a mission, you can go under the upper right flipper for alternative mission rules.

Hi guys,

I think i have found the rules of the STE GAT.
The value of the GAT shots is 350k x Number of shots during this mission + Normal value of this shot.
The following shots increase of 75k.

For Exemple: STE
1>> 100k
2>> 145k
3>> 380k (combo of 190k)
4>> Away Team (it score 235k but don't see it on DmD)
5>> 1 680k (350k x 4 + 280k)
6>> 1 755k (N-1 + 75k)
7>> 1 830k
8>> Final Shot 370k

It will count only 5 shots for the starting value of the next mission. The 3 normal shots, the GOT, and the final shot.
The final shot seem to be the value of this shot if we didn't do GAT -1.

Each away team seems to have his own rules for their starting value. The increase seems to always be 75k.
Shots between GOT and Final shot never count for the next starting mission value.

GOT seems good to take score cash but not for a long play.
It should be good not to active GOT too early, just to win the 20 seconds and take score after increase the scoring value of the next mission with the normal shots.

#93 8 years ago

It seems to be the same way to calculate the value of other GAT. Except Space Jump, i still don't understand.
Formula is: GAT value of the mission x Number of shots during this mission + Normal Value of this shots (as explained before):
STE: 350k
Nero:225k
DtD: 200k
KB: 150k
PD: 125k
I Still have to work on Space Jump...
