So not counting these two, or the games at the shop, 41.

I used to have 20+, but since shifting the basement, I've toned it down to 6 (or 7 if I get rid of the bar table)

You guys with 10 plus...basement or something else? Separate building or add on? I built an arcade in my basement that's 600sq ft. I have alot of arcade games though so only room for 7 pins.

Haha...no judging. I know some places of the country/ world don't have basements or very much square footage for the monies.

    6 is max for me.

23 currently in the basement (I get the whole basement, no pins upstairs, house rules). That is about half of what I need for what I have, the rest in storage/temporary space/rotates. I can get 4 more in with some adjustment of the utility room and will be doing that after the two current projects are done (Kitchen/Great Room remodel, almost done, and a 26X30 Garage/shop addition (30% done)

    #13 2 years ago

9 is what I can fit in the basement garage and still be able to remove all playfield glasses comfortably, thus 9 it will be. Still only own 7 games so have two more spots reserved.

The car have to stay outdoors, I have to prioritize!

    #14 2 years ago

5 max in my basement with the way its currently configured. Could do probably up to 15, but then loose the media space which is great for family movies nights and sports event (pre covid anyways)

I have 36 and can fit a lot more in my 3000 sq foot game room in my basement. I do have a few video games also.

    49.

I have all 59 in there now as the 10 games I had out on route are shoehorned in the gameroom with no room to move around or remove the glass.

    #26 2 years ago

With good presentation about 45. 55 and things get a little awkward. Anything more than that and games need to start going into storage position.

    #27 2 years ago

4 max. Possibly adding a Scared Stiff next to EATPM, then that will be it.

The Dirty Dozen: 3 downstairs, 3 in bar area and 6 in Great Room. Seeing some of these higher numbers has me thinking about an addition - for pins only.

    #32 2 years ago

When we built our house the downstairs was designed for and electrical was put in for the pins. Despite that foresight, I now have two in our unfinished basement area, two in the front room upstairs and one in a downstairs bedroom. I keep thinking I need to pare down the collection - but it always seems to grow little by little...

    #33 2 years ago

13 at home and around 30 in the warehouse.

    #34 2 years ago

I have 12 pins in our basement now as well as some arcade games. I could fit more, but have to balance space for the wife to exercise and do her Zumba training. It's only fair as she puts up with my obsessions. I can put up with hers

We also have a pool table which isn't leaving

Yup I’m thinking about a home addition also, or moving but the real estate market here is way overpriced just to get a raised ranch with garage & walkout basement

Poor Breakshot looks so out of place!

    #39 2 years ago

Here’s the thing: I have as many machines as I have space for, and they go wherever they fit, rather than in one dedicated space.

I had my first pin in an empty corner of the dining room.
Then I decided that I don’t really use my eat-in kitchen, so two went in there.
Then I decided I could consolidate the bookshelves in my living room, so two more went there.
Then I realized I could replace my coffee table with a cocktail pin.
Then I realized I don’t use the closet in my office, so I took the doors off and fit two in there.
Now, I’m wondering if I really need a fireplace.

I know a lot of people prefer a single game room, but I love that my whole house is an arcade.

    #40 2 years ago

16, all in the basement, but I could fit another 10 if I didn’t have a home theater, or if I renegotiated the “Treaty of ‘04” with my wife. I currently have 8 in storage and 2 out on loan.

    #41 2 years ago

    45 is my max!

    #42 2 years ago

I can fit 16 into my dedicated arcade. My overflow game is at a friends house.

Thanks! 8 4ft blacklights and 8 4ft white lights. Blacklights and white lights are on separate light switch. 8 20amp circuits as well.

30 in the basement. Could probably get 3-4 more in if I take apart the workbench, but it's both handy and has "Bill 1945" written on the side in marker, and I hate to do that to 'ol Bill just yet. Could also fit 2-3 more where the TV is, but that's just overboard.

Currently 10 cocktail pins and one woodrail in the 3rd floor loft. It has dormered ceilings, so cocktails fit under those perfectly. The woodrail is sitting next to the bar. One day I want to chainsaw the pool table out and fill up that space with my favorite wedgeheads and woodrails. I estimate I could get about 16 of them up there. I love the '50s-'60s era of pins and they're fun (and cheaper!) to collect, but also it's a 28" doorway and modern pins won't fit up there without taking the backbox off anyway.

I think I have about 10 pins between my storage locker and my basement alcove, including some of those wedgeheads and woodrails waiting for that loft space one day.

    #45 2 years ago

    6 is my max.

    #46 2 years ago

I have a dedicated room to fit 8. With the garage I can fit 4 more, but I think having around 8-10 total is just fine for me.

I can actually fit 9 in this room, but number 9 would have to be folded up and stored as a stand-by alternate, which is good because I can breakdown and rotate games and store atleast 1 with plenty of room to do so.

My wife and I built a house from scratch specifically to hold pinball machines. We built a room capable of holding 17 games, but they would be packed in tight and there would be no place to sit. We've come down from that number and now we're thinking of doing 8 or 9 in that room, with plenty of seating and a bar area. We could always make it more, and if we wanted to turn the room next to it into a pinball room we could even get up to 30ish, but I don't want games to sit around unplayed like that.

IMO, 6 is the minimum needed to feel like you have variety. It just gives you that feeling of "oh wow I haven't played this in a while".

    #49 2 years ago

After a Hurricane, that took half the house, I rebuilt a new kitchen, great room.
So I got the old living room and dining room.....20 is the best I can fit with Pinball Tetris....

or if I renegotiated the “Treaty of ‘04” with my wife.

You are well past the 7 year statue of limitations and if you don't need to father any more children, I'd tear up that Treaty and go hog wild... but sleep with one eye open.
