My son and I got on this topic. Just wondering if anyone has ever taken the time to estimate how many parts (or things....screws and all) are in one of these new high-end pinball machines such as WoZ.

Thoughts?

I am not asking unique parts. I am talking how many parts are in a pinball machine? This would include repeats. For example a car has four tires. Each tire is counted once even though it is identical.

My point is there are a lot of them and we were curious how many there might be.

Flipper Mech would have a lot of parts by my definition of the question.

Funny, my initial reaction to the question from my son was 10,000. The more I thought about it, I really thought it might be more. Then we started talking about the circuit boards. We both agreed that if it is soldered together, it counts as one

It really is amazing these things even work when you are all done. In reality it is one of the more complex machines out there.
