Just interested in how many pinball machines people own? I'm interested if anyone can actually stop at just one. 11 here at the moment.

Its an addiction i am trying to shake. But like they say rehab's for quitters, that's why i am trying to drive off into the sunset.
Just one. I'm in the Coast Guard and they move me every 2-3 years on average. That doesn't lend itself to ownership of large, fragile, heavy objects.
Five right now. I want to buy one more, but I am still trying to decide if I want to get rid of one to keep it at 5, or just have 6. Maintenance is the big issue for me. I don't want to do it.
Between 9 and 14 at any given time. More than a dozen makes things too crowded, so I have to sell something to make room. If it wasn't for the space issue, I'd probably have twenty.
18 at the moment , I'm selling one tomorrow do ...but I'm getting two as partial trade so 19 ....damn hobby !!!
Why couldn't I collected cards ....
Quoted from pinwiztom:No will power
though i have only bought one game in past 3-1/2 yrs
We have a winner here!
Stuck at 7. Mostly because of the wife will power, not mine
17 in the past year and only got into the hobby a year ago. 15 currently and all working but one because new ramp is coming for it. If I had more space I'd have more.

That's because there aren't any left that you don't already own.
19 pins and 2 more on the way
150 plus vids a lot of uncommon stuff
Lots and lots of parts been collecting coin op for 15yrs

I have 1 pin at the moment. Space is the main issue for me, only room for 2 machines, trying to save for a bigger house.
Got up to 8 at one point and realized its a lot if big boxes taking up too much room and I did not play a third of them. Down to three and could use 2-3 more. For me 6 is a good amount to always play and maintain.
First pin brought in Sept 2013, 2nd in November....Wife said only 2 inside umm...built second games room at back of garage to keep the peace and allow my collection to grow, have two more out there with two more on the way...where will it end who knows!!
Was at 7 for awhile and thought that was my sweet spot and wanted to stay there, then a good deal came up on a game I wanted real bad. Now I'm at 9 and looking for more. Lol
I talked to one guy who had a machine for sale who said something that cracked me up: "I'm what you might call a 'double-digit collector', which of course means that I have somewhere between 10 and 99 machines... the reality is probably about 40 or 50."
I'm still a single-digit collector, and I don't see that changing anytime soon, although I have started accelerating the rate at which I've been mixing up the collection.
Here's how many machines based on what people have on their Pinside profile:

Wow, I hope you did that automatically and not manually - well done.
I would like to hear from the single owners - we know one is in the Coast Guard, and has to move frequently. I bet of the 2K or so, most just haven't updated their profile as they are too busy playing and trolling the 'For Sale" section!

Yeah, I used a Python script I wrote the last time a thread like this came up. I figured it would be more accurate than depending on everyone on Pinside responding to this thread. Here's what I get if I use the OP's buckets:
1: 2333 (27%)
2-5: 3514 (41%)
6-10: 1440 (16%)
>10: 1184 (13%)
(% is out of those with at least one machine)
