I have been reading threads about playfield issues, mainly Stern and JJP from what I have seen. I am very interested in knowing what % of NIB games are affected.

I am not trying to take anything away from the other threads, keep the comments going there, and mainly just vote here so we can all see the exact #'s. You can vote multiple choice.

Probably should have a poll about how many don't.

I do have one slightly raised insert on my No Fear.

That is in this poll also.

    I see that now.

I saw the writing on the walls when I bought a BM66. What a piece of garbage playfield that came with.

I'm just kinda glad nothing either company makes appeals to me now. All my others are just fine.

The poll topic is pretty vague. Are people thinking that “any playfield issues” includes dimpling or wood grain (which are normal)? I’d be more interested in a poll specifically about pooling and/or chipping.

The kind of extreme dimpling you see on newer games today may be normal to you. But I've had 100s of older games that say it's not. Enough lower play games that say it's really not.

Steel ball hitting quality hardwood should put a dent in it like a 100 MPH fastball will put a dent in a baseball bat. I can drop pinballs on my oak floor and not notice anything.

Sorry, I meant it to be for the clearcoat issues going on.

Careful @o-din, the dimplegangers are gonna attack if you say things like this. Glad you didn't buy the lie.

Why would i? I've got a No Fear with a smooth as glass playfield. And believe it or not, it does get some airballs.

I was just joking since they band together and attack.

I have had 3 NIB Sterns, 1 NIB JJP, 3 NIB Spooky, no playfield issues on any of them. Only games I've owned with playfield issues are old games that presumably got them from many years of wear and tear.

I don't think I am understanding your question correctly

I wish that i could vote twice since i have two games that have playfield issues.

    #16 4 years ago

    Bought GoT Pre.

After about 2000 games I noticed the shooter lane chipped, right where the ball kicks out. Besides that it looks flawless.

Maybe I won the lottery, but it seems like the worst games are after game of thrones.

Me too. The 2 newest games I have.

If I had a option for that I would have made the poll like that. It would be nice to know the exact number of fine games vs exact number of games with issues for each manufacturer.

I wish all of you the best! I hope all this is fixed very soon.

C'mon Stern and JJP, get it together...early on way over 50% of games in this poll has problems and more than that because pinsiders can only vote for one machine in this poll.

My Star Wars Premium had a warped playfield. Thankfully, Stern replaced it with a new populated playfield. The process took about 4 months, but in then end, it was made right.

Spooky pinball Total Nuclear Annihilation has this too. I voted in the blank spot.

    #21 4 years ago

Best playfield I have is on my 1940 Bally Limelight, go figure

I just wanted to refresh this to see how the poll may change now. From what I have been reading I think Stern and JJP are doing better, but just curious.
