Mit den Korn even!
I still use the 10" metal tube with a handle where you fill it with charcoal and stuff it full of newspaper on the bottom and light it! Kinda-like a mini campfire. Steaks sure do taste good though using charcoal.

Yeah, a charcoal chimney. I use one to light my charcoal, but I don't use newspaper. I set it on a propane campstove burner for a few minutes, and within 10 minutes or so, the coals are ready to dump out and use for cooking.
On New Year's Eve 2000-2001, I did actually cook over the chimney itself. I filled it only about halfway, and when the coals were good and hot, I put a small grating over the top of it and put two well pepper crusted filet mignons on it. They seared perfectly, and we enjoyed them with some lobster tails. Man, that was good eatin'!
I think I will have to start another poll for EM addicts. Do we prefer propane, charcoal, wood, smoke etc. to cook over!
But keep it coming.
One should have as many EM's as can fit out of sight from the public, i.e. in the basement. As a EM only collector, I like to keep my collection out of the public eye. Invitation only.
"Your actual amount may vary". There is a formula for this. Resources x Space x Time for Hobby + Significant Others Approval, - Their Indifference.
Quoted from DennisDodel:A friend of mine has one from each decade.
a real nice way to build a diverse collection, but then i though its too hard to catpture a decade in 1 machine so i reached a compremise- maybe 2 for each decade, then 3- its just keeps getting better
Only place I use propane (and I'm sure I'll get flamed for this (see what I did there)) is tailgating. I say that for two reasons: many stadiums have outlawed using coals, although that is not what stopped me, what did, was that I would leave the grill sitting out when I went to the game, since it is too hot to put in the suv which is crammed full with all the other stuff, and believe it or not, on two occasions I've had a small weber grill stolen!! -- what kind of scum does that?
Quoted from jrpinball:That's one well used kettle grill!
16 years and still going strong!
Quoted from Airaces:i have 74 ems looking for 75
I could have that many if they were this big

I've been working with 7 years (around about). this has worked for technical changes.
my collection 1972/ 1978 / 1985 / 1992 / 1995.
Need more 70's machines, I think.
The 1995 machine, Baywatch is a fix up and fund others machine thing, got it for about $1000 less than most go for.
the bad news, the wife likes it.
Quoted from Airaces:i have 74 ems looking for 75
Now that's a collection, however we have one member with over 300. Mostly EM others are early SS.
But i'm impressed with your lot.
