How about a musical time machine pin that starts in the 60's and as you progress through the years you can hear music from bands of that era. Then we could cram all the bands into one pin.

I mentioned something a while back but most thought licensing would be too high/difficult.

And I'm sure they were correct. Would be epic though.

Every time I brought up multiple bands in one game the answer I got was too much for licensing. I've tried a few times to talk Jack into securing the "Now that's what I call music" rights... if you could secure that you would have over 65 cds to choose music from. We're talking every band and every type of music hit you could think of from every decade. How you would even be able to choose which songs to use would be the hardest lol. You would be able to make any toy or band feature you wanted in the play field from that song.. there's so many options it's crazy... best part it's only one license for all the music.. feel free to send this idea to any major pinball company

Here is a good example. This is a pretty good documentary if you haven't seen it. Everything was put together starting in 1996 and completed in 2008. But it wasn't until 2015 that it came out. They couldn't release it until they got all of the song rights. They had to do a Kickstarter to get $300,000 to cover the music licensing for all of the songs in the movie. The songs in this movie that these people played on are amazing.

I realize this is an entirely subjective exercise however I can't imagine there are LESS than 8 bands left in history that deserve to have a pinball machine themed after them. Now, if you are hinting at how many band themes are left that would be most marketable to 35-50 year old white dudes, that may be a different answer.
Full disclosure- I'm a 40 year old white dude.

Thinking about this a bit more and Daft Punk would work great. Great music, they have a style / branding that could lend itself to pin, and they are both contemporary and have been around long enough to be classic too, so there would be enough people into them.

How bout a machine called "Play the jazz". A jazz themed machine. Jazzed themed toys. Runin from the law ramp, moonshine mountain, "locked up" ball lock, different modes play different songs, different shots play different parts of those songs and you have to make the shots in order to play the song. Who is in?

I love jazz music, but have no idea how it would translate to a pinball machine... and seriously NO idea what it has to do with moonshine

I think Red Hot Chili Peppers will get one, pretty sure. Their songs would fit very well in a pinball.
A killer and better theme for me will be Motorhead, but it's not realistic IMO

No more bands or movie titles. It's been done, over & over and it's stale. It worked in the '90's, but really has no place in pinball anymore. The problem, at least with me is that bands are very esoteric. Not every one likes the same music. The pin could be the best playing, deepest ruleset game ever built, but if the player isn't into the band, it'll be a dog. Theme is everything, in my opinion. Just make a pin with an ORIGINAL theme already. Take chances-it's worked before.
Another annoyance about 'band' pins is that they get old fast. Very fast. It's similar to listening to any modern-day "Classic Rock" radio station and hearing the SAME playlist day in & day out. I recently had a new wing put on my house. The whole job took ~8 months. The contractors always had a radio playing while they were working. Each & every day I was on the job I'd hear the exact same music playing -Queen's "We are the Champions", "Freebird", etc etc etc. Do you know how maddening this can be? Well, that's the same thing when you own a pin like this. Don't get me wrong, other non-music themed pins can be just as bad-Anyone for the the VUK shot sound on WH20?
I guess the best solution is to have multiple pins...it gets less repetitious that way!

    Tenacious D
    Blues Brothers

    Sex Bob-omb
    Brian Setzer Orchestra
    Soggy Bottom Boys
    Run DMC
    Johnny Cash
    TLC
    Beastie Boys
I just want some different genres of music pins.

I agree; a little musical diversity is in order. My addition: Parliament/Funkadelic. They would make a great game. Plus with their fanbases in Europe and countries like Japan it could open up markets where pin hasn't made much headway.

Ok, since I was reminded of your list above, I will say that the Beastie Boys could be pretty good, and The Blues Brothers would be epic! If done right!
