I'd say...
The Beatles
Iron Maiden
Grateful Dead
Megadeth
Nine Inch Nails
Ozzy
I'd like many other bands but they aren't realistic...
PIG
Pop Will Eat Itself
Faith No More
Depeche Mode
Dream Theater (with Mike Portnoy)

ZZ Top would make a cool pin.
Blues, women, hot rods.... what's not to love?
At least the music is already out there in one pin!
Billy Idol ...... not a band but some pretty good songs ....... prob not enough to warrant a pin though. What about a pin with a compilation of 80's rock/punk etc
The question isn't how many deserve a pin, it's how many will get a pin. To me the band is kind of irrelevant as long as it's a good pin. Never thought I'd own a pin based on the band Metallica, but it's one of the best pins made in the last several years.
The Who deserve a pin based on their main catalogue of music.
Jimmy Buffett could be a pretty cool theme as well.
With Spooky releasing both Rob Zombie and Alice Cooper pins, they absolutely HAVE to release an Ozzy pin. It just makes too much sense. Other than that, Iron Maiden is another obvious choice.
Quoted from gtxjoe:Led Zeppelin
Rush
Nirvana
Pink Floyd
Jimi Hendrix
The Doors
U2
The Police
Van Halen
Daft Punk
This list exactly.
I don't know about anyone else but I'd really like a rap/hip hop pin. I'd shell out an embarrassing amount of money for a Stern Wu Tang Clan Super LE
Blue Oyster Cult...looking gor some "Reaper" multiball...followed by some building smashing of Godzilla.
Quoted from gtxjoe:Led Zeppelin
Rush
Nirvana
Pink Floyd
Jimi Hendrix
The Doors
U2
The Police
Van Halen
Daft Punk
I love this list. Forgive me, but I would actually add Coldplay to it. I know. I know, something is wrong with me, but I would buy it.
Not my cup of tea but I think Slipknot would be a great candidate. Also Nine Inch Nails - how cool would a great industrial theme be?
Dave Matthews Band
Tenacious D
Blues Brothers
Merle Haggard
The Knife
Anamanaguchi
Bela Fleck and the Flecktones
Sex Bob-omb
Brian Setzer Orchestra
Soggy Bottom Boys
Run DMC
Johnny Cash
TLC
Beastie Boys
I just want some different genres of music pins.
I think you could do some really fun and interesting stuff in a GWAR pin. Wouldn't be great for a major Stern release, but a boutique like Spooky could do a great job and sell 500 units pretty easy I'd assume.
Not a band with a very large following, but the odditity of the theme would likely stretch beyond "fans" of the band.
Would likely be a very affordable license as well.

Dealing with Sharon would likely be a complete nightmare. I don't see this ever being worth the trouble.
My list would be below and I think all of them could be successful pins.
Led Zeppelin
Beatles
Jimi Hendricks
Queen
Beastie Boys
Not sure why but I think a Beastie Boys pin could turn out killer. The other 4 are obvious choices if the someone can afford the license. There's a lot of other bands that I really like but I just don't see them having mass appeal enough to have a pin or I just don't think the music fits pinball that well.

QFT
Quoted from dmbjunky:Tenacious D
Tenacious D could be a really entertaining game, especially if Jack and Kyle were down for doing custom voice work. Too many band suggestion pins are just "I love this band, give me a pinball jukebox with them in it". The D has a lot of potential for 'story' and humor that really helps a cohesive pinball game come together.
Well if Aerosmith, Rob Zombie, and Alice Cooper can get pins I don't think anything's off the table....

Yep. Good point.
I vote an "Ozzy's Boneyard" pin after his Sirius Channel. It's preset #1 in my car.
Realistically I think Iron Maiden will get one.
It would be nice to see a music pin that wasn't rock themed, a Wu-Tang Clan one would be amazing.

SHIT yeah, like this one In fact, what about a School of Rock pin?
I'd say The Red Hot Chili Peppers would be a solid move. They are still going strong after more than 25 years and nearly everyone knows at least one of their songs.
Intersect success, demographics, and pinball-appropriate genre and you get:
Beatles
Led Zeppelin
Pink Floyd
Queen
U2
(Bon Jovi) I can't see this one
Prince
Van Halen
Or maybe I am incorrectly omitting a possible juggernaut:
Garth Brooks(?)
