Doing in-house repairs for people, there are way more people with just a machine or two in their house than you would think. A lady who contacted me recently has three pins and she's not a pinhead at all -- inherited them from her parents and wants them working for the grandkids to play. So, lots of "off radar" games out there too.
So many people have a single pin as a novelty or decoration. But those people aren't hobbyists on pinside, so idk how good of a representation the numbers here are. I know a guy that bought a Monster Bash brand new and has never owned any other machine since. There's also a bunch of pinheads who hate this website for some reason.
