Thought I'd share this one with you.
Worked on a The Shadow today, having the driver for the mini playfield drop target reset short. Burned the coil up.
Turned out, this was a general purpose driver stage. With a manufacturing mistake on the connecter. The tieback diode reference voltage was applied to the wrong driver stage. A neighbouring flash lamp.
This was good for 20 years of operation before it gave in. Assuming this explains why.
