Nope I won't ignore them TeeKee I am waiting for them....

There have been a few already... funny how you targeted only the one with some negative issues.

Coincidence? I think not...

#52 10 years ago

LOL thanks for cueing the hater raters. And right on cue 3 ratings below 7. They usually engage after seeing something like this even if they haven't played it. Well played.

Quoted from Honch:

Metal is a pretty broad term and a lot of bands (not really musically related) could be called metal.

I think it's fair to say that all bands that are called metal are not really related to music.

I know, how many hater raters have we seen on Woz! After 2 1/2 years of BS, lots of rater hate has built up...

Quit allowing the PRIVACY ratings to count....its a joke

Quoted from iceman44:

I prefer about a thousand other soundtracks versus Metallica, and Woz is one of them, it might be 999, but its one of them...

Now that is funny...

I assumed the single game listed in your collection would be a WoZ based upon this comment. I assumed wrong

WOZ is a sluggish borefest that appeals to Octogenarians.

My kids prefer WOZ...but I love Metallica. ap_octomom_mi_121116_wblog.jpgap_octomom_mi_121116_wblog.jpg

For me it's the theme that kills Metallica. They are ok, but I can't listen to them for very long. I'm not a huge fan of WOZ either, but the theme is well suited for pinball, and from what I see the games quality is unmatched.

#60 10 years ago

Wow! All of this unsubstantiated judgement reminds me of high school. LOL

Flip and Let Flip. It really is that simple.

I don't get it, is this a joke much like the American economy?

Quiet now don't make me come down there and buy up all your foreclosed houses and then rent them back to you

Yes, our economy is a joke but our military is not... yes, the same military that is protecting your asses up there!

WOZ theme is poor though they did a great job with it. I dig the game

#66 10 years ago

How? People who voted scored closer to 10 for Metallica then WOZ

I think the real question is how is Metallica only number 22?! It should be way higher.

#71 10 years ago

I would say quit while your ahead, but its too late for that already.

#72 10 years ago
Quoted from Concretehardt:

TeeKee you nailed it brother!

Both sides play their parts, play them hard, and play for the same team.

I've tried both games with the sound OFF (neither of them appeal to me in that department), and I can honestly say I prefer the gameplay of Metallica. The build quality and passion put into WoZ is there, the feel of the playfield just doesn't work for me.

Hmmm.... I am not a fan of both themes, althuogh watching videos the music on met is doable for me, but that woz song..... Come on, how can you not get irritated by that?

Can you imagine having this pin as your only pin in your living room? I cant.

I still cant believe jack picked this theme. And looking back, he told how he picked this theme. I think he just picked to fast, had not thinked about it. Pure out of enthusiasme of the starting of the company.

Its a kids theme, and for some fans in the usa. Thats your marcet.

The hobbit is much better picked.that theme will be liked by all kinds of ages and all around the world.

But ok, back to comparing to met and woz. Woz looks better, is build better, but thats it for me.

Pinball is about fun, and even when i forget about the constant annoying music woz has no fun lay out. 2 mini fields who both are boring. Both rampshots next to each other.underneath the miniplayfields there is just nothing but dead targets. No drop downs....

Everything that met does has, without the boring minifields.

Met wins this for a mile for me.... But..... I am a big fan of jjp, i see what he is doing and its a natural thing in pinball that some themes you like and some you dont, same as with layout.

I hope woz will sell like pancakes, and that hobbit will explode and renew the pinball scene like jack promised, i really hope he will do it.

Hey Canada, no team in the Stanley cup finals, ahhh that sucks.

I will trade the vancouver Canucks for a woz. Seems equal trade to me, they both play like little sissy girls, if only the sedins would wear ruby skates.

#78 10 years ago

Hawks are my team anyways.

#79 10 years ago

I think the new OZ movie would be a cool theme for a pin.

I've played both very recently. WOZ looks way better but at this time Metallica plays a bit better. I didn't even notice the music on Metallica when I was playing because its so fast and there is no time to think about it. WOZ music is not so great but I think 2 years from now when both games are complete then it will be WOZ. The ramps and combos on Metallica really makes WOZ's single ramp layout seem lacking. WOZ has two VUK's and one ramp, and that should definitely have been reversed to two ramps one VUK.

I would have been in on a WOZ a long time ago if it had a better theme. My issue..pig tails and slippers..eh, just not my cup of tea. I'll bet if you can get past the theme, I'll bet its fun. I just can't have it in the game room.

Re-theme it with something bad ass and I'm in.

#82 10 years ago
Quoted from bradloy25:

How is it Metallica is rated #22 and WOZ is rated #65

Simple demographics.

There's far more headbangers than pillowbiters that play pinball

......not that there's anything wrong with that....

But seriously, first THANK YOU for the "who cares" option for the poll.... I wish it were mandatory.
Secondly, the rankings for a new pin are a joke nowadays.... And lots of WOZ hate-raters out there
Thirdly, how many WoZ are in the wild? Like 20? I think it'll take a LONG time for regular folk to even get a chance to see one... Much longer than for a mass produced stern.

Metallica is finished, its on location, it has complete rules although maybe not finished ones. WOZ hasn't been played by many except at shows. Those that have had the "pleasure" of playing WOZ probably walked away with a bad taste in their mouth due to the sad state of game rules at the time, like myself. The best thing to take away from the whole WOZ ratings debacle is that Robin is working on revamping the ratings system. Robin rocks!

WoZ is popping up on location as well... the one I played left me somewhere between "meh" and "troubled" but very curious to see how it develops. I am not convinced it will be my favorite game ever even with mind bending code, but who knows?

The biggest ? I was left with was why did the game reset/freeze during my time at Dorky's. I assume it needed to be power cycled, Is this a common thing? I have heard people make reference to this, but I do not know if this is something that has been fixed or if people are ostriching about it.

As someone who could potentially route a WoZ, seeing one have electrical issues that would cause headaches on location is reason enough to stay far away at this moment.

It was not a pleasure at all, and the bad taste will probably last I'm sorry to say. You can change the code all you want, the game will not flow like Metallica! And the theme.....please gimmie a freakin break. Shes a beauty to look at and the underside of her is a work of art but....we don't play the underside....

Oh and why should Robin change the ratings....they are fine....

You pretty much have no choice but to stay away from WOZ until the technical issues get sorted if you plan to route one.

I'm still not sure why owners here won't disclose, but that's their choice, I suppose. It's just silly how people say that a game like metalica "sucks" because of a broken drop target after ball contact, but WOZ blows fuses in the GI and reboots mid-game and its still held on such a pedestal. I have to believe it's a financially motivated double-standard.

WOZ also froze up and the screen went black or something on us when we were playing at Dorky's. Also the ball was getting stuck behind the upper left drop target, even after ball search it wouldn't release...the weirdest part to me was that there was no high scores at all?

I still think it's a fun game, and I can't wait to see what they do with Hobbit!

Had an opening box party last night. Not my words but everyone that was there said MOPLE is KILLER. It is the real deal get out and play one

#96 10 years ago

Besides the Hammer and Spinners ( Leds , Bling Yr Own ) the Pro has to be Killer also .. Asa has the Pro 40 miles from me , but I'm Not gonna play 1 till i get mine ..

#97 10 years ago

Black Rose any of the versions will not let you down it is really a good game with lots of shots to it that are very satisfying to hit bro

#98 10 years ago

Gee... whenever I see a series of posts with lots of thumbs up from RareHero, extraballingtmc and the rest of the pack, I just know there's gotta be some gnarly WOZ slammin' goin' on.

Quoted from MrDo:

I'm still not sure why owners here won't disclose, but that's their choice, I suppose.

So... owners of WOZ aren't reporting tons of problems, THEREFORE: it's a huge international conspiracy, because everyone must SURELY be having tons of problems based on a few proto/op games, because you think so. However, Jack must have sworn everyone to super-duper double secrecy, which for the very first time in the history of the internet, is actually working.

Oh, wait:

Quoted from MrDo:

I have to believe it's a financially motivated double-standard.

Uh huh. And what would that motive be that EVERYONE would be in on it? Is it some secret pact to hide issues so everyone can sell their game at a high price? Oh wait, what happens when they actually sell to someone not in on the pact?

Or would it be a financial motive like the Stern dealers who talk smack about WOZ at every chance? Or the guy who builds embedded systems boards and has visions of building his own pinball trash talking a platform he can't easily replicate? Or the guy that buys every single game as the best ever, then sells it weeks or months later - and who used to lose money doing this, but can now turn an easy profit? Or is it the guys who cancelled their $6500 WOZ orders too early and now realize that if they'd held on, they coulda turned a $1500-$3000 profit? Or how about the guy with an open vendetta against Jack?

Yeah... motives work both ways.

It sounds like MOPLE is having problems with magnets & coffin lock as well. Assuming what your saying about WOZ is true, it is disappointing. However, given that you are one of the WOZ haters I would like to hear it from an owner or operator. No one has posted anything on the WOZ forum to support your claim.
