Are replays an integral part of the location pinball experience? It's obviously part of the game going way back to bagatelle, but leaving the legacy aside what does it add to the game nowadays?
I can't think of any other coin operated games that award a free game or equivalent for doing well besides slot machines. At face value a replay makes very little sense for operators, but does having that target encourage more coin drop? Every time I walk up to a machine the replay is the first thing I check.
