I am really wanting to spend some time on MM but there are no available machines in my area (go figure). I just used the mapping section to find one in another town-cool feature. So now I am seriously considering driving from KC to Omaha to get my fix. That is if the owners of the place can verify its working ok. Am I crazy or is this normal? Maybe this the wrong crowd to ask that. So, how far would you travel and what pin would it be for?

I would travel across the world to play any 4 of the star trek pins, they are my dream machines.

    #3 12 years ago

Well I have travelled over 2700 miles for Pinball before...
    Soooo,
    I guess 300 miles is O.K.
It IS for the PHOF after all!

If I am really lazy, 25 feet is all it takes!

I only know of 3, bally 1978, the st 25 anniversary data east, and STTNG.

Are you counting the 1978 prototype as one of the 4?

If there's a 4th one I'd really like to know what it is, because I thought there were only
    3 ST pins.

PAPA XIV is in 3 weeks. MM is there, and will be available for 4 days. Just walk in and play up to 300 working pins available. 350-400 if you play the tournaments. 50 cents a game. Aug. 11-14th.

Pittsburgh, PA. pretty much. How far is that for you to drive? I'd give you directions, but...

I wouldn't bullshit you guys on here. It is a pinball experience.

Yeah I hear it's pretty grand out in Pittsburgh,
hopefully someone can post a few photos

So far, 1 hour. But that wasn't a particular machine. More like an arcade.

I don't like to have to cross the river, but I am spoiled.

I might take you up on that TG. Des Moines has a place that has both? I would love to go to PAPA but it is not in the cards for me this year.

I travelled about 5 hrs drive to Play Sterns Iron Maiden once and didn't like it much when I got there
....but that was because I didn't understand it. Great game and a real looker. There is a review in my profile.

1 hourish to Lyons Classic Pinball and/or Flipper McGills here in Colorado, not often but a few times a year.

I used to make a two and a half hour train plus a half hour bus journey on occasions to play a MM that was in an arcade on the south coast of England. Sadly the machine has now gone.

I don't think there is now a MM left in an arcade anywhere in the UK anymore.

Outlane-Avoider, I know how you feel. Not enough machines in England. I've got 3 pins an hours drive away from me, but otherwise I'm looking at staying at a hotel overnight just to go and play pinball. (Except the NGG in my garage, which Is a life-saver).

I'm about to drive to Seattle from Walla Walla(5 hours) just so I can play Tron and Big Buck Hunter Pro. It will also be my first time playing a Stern machine.

    #18 12 years ago

The two are in an bowling alley in Ames. I think its listed here on the where to play feature...

I don't think I'd go more then 1/2 hour drive, just to play pinball. I basically just play them when I see them. Plus, I get to Vegas every few years and the Pinball Hall of Fame is a must stop on every trip. The way I look at it, I'm practically making money (since I'm losing it much slower then I would if I were in a casino).

Depends on how many machines they had. I'd drive up to an hour to get to 3 machines. I'd go 2 hrs for 6 or more machines with beer and tunes.

Good call Loupie. This location has 10+ machines and some good titles. beer, food, tunes and open late. Its Big John's Billiards in Omaha. Free Plug but hey-it looks like a good place to play. If anyone from the Omaha area can provide some info I would appreciate it. I would love to get out to the PHOF soon but in reality its probably not going to happen this year. But thats ok, Im on vacation and just wanted to take a little roadtrip and play some new games. Vacation all I want to do is...sorry, I always seem to think of this song.

Silverballer, too bad this site wasn't here a few years ago. Town Topic had a MM, they also had a guns and roses too. You would have only had to drive a few miles. I drive 3 hours to 1984 arcade in springfield to play Funhouse, grand lizard and Swords of fury. I look at the space invaders pinball there cause it pretty but not very fun to play.
