Get a can of air. Hold upside down. Freeze the gum. See if you can gently scrape it off then.

I’ve seen even Goo Gone lift paint. It can help, maybe since it’s a decal it may be more resistant.

Freezing the gum did the trick! The gum crumbed up like crackers when it was frozen and scrapped right off. I never would have though that. Must have been because it was very old and not fresh.

Fresh or old, it was because you froze it to -60° F.

Alternatively, peanut butter also releases gum and can't imagine it would hurt the paint.
