Hi, I have got to the stage in gameplay with my 1989 Data East Robocop where I regularly score over 10,000,00 points (not bragging) but when I do the score rolls over to a 0 and starts counting again from there. Is there a way of over-coming this?

You'll get better replies on one of the Solid State forums. This is Electro Mechanical.

Yeah, once you get 3 or 4 multi-ball the points just keeps roolling in like crazy. There is a limitation with the display, so I dont think anything can be done about it.
I keep a counter in my head. 25.5 Millions was my aproximate record from a few years back. I haven's played seriously in a couple of years.

Have fun.

Mine plays at 1 million miles per hour. Me and other good players have a hard time getting over 3-4 Mil!

Suck more?

Sounds like the pin needs a setup bad! Robocop should be one of the fastest, nastiest pins around. You are gonna get bored real quick playing an easy Robocop.

Set it on hard so you need to complete the targets in order rather that randomly.

I've had mine for years, have it set normal and have seen it rolled only a few times. It is real fast, nasty and unforgiving!

Frippertron and Tullster thanks.
I know I have everything set to easy with free balls just for switching the machine on so I think I might reset the controls to hard.
I recently had to replace a couple of stand up switch targets and in the process found it better to shoot them than rely on the 209 switches at the top of the field to arrest the criminals.
I also just finished polishing the playfield last week with a deep clean and the balls are almost faster than the eye at the moment which will curtail my high scores for a while.

Yeah I now know what you mean after cleaning and polishing the playfield.

There's always the option of changing a rule or two or three in the feature settings and/or any adjustable playfield posts the game has to be more on the conservative side. I.e. less points for certain features, increase difficulty of extra balls or other things, make the ball times lower via the posts etc.

Factory setting also includes a continue feature which is dumb and needs to be disabled, along with extra balls. I use the suggested Novelty settings and medium difficulty, which makes it brutal yet fun enough for me.

In my opinion, if you're still getting to multiball every game, set it hard.

I set it to Hard last night and enjoyed a couple of fun hours learning the table.
