    I just got Midway’s Rodeo pinball machine(1964 i think).
Not sure how to open the cabinet. The piece between the flipper buttons has a ball direction devise and i think this machine opens on the scoring end. I was able to remove the head via 4 bolts like my othrr machine. Anyone worked on one of these that could tell me where the latch would be?
    Thanks
    Rob

According to ipdb photos it has a coin door — did someone cover it up?

    Quoted from Anindyfan:

tell me where the latch would be?

The thing your turn and the button, that comes off.

I don't recall when you open the coin door if it's latches, or wing nut things you unscrew inside the front of the cabinet. Open the coin door and look around.

There were two latches. So the knob and button didn’t have to be removed.

Any suggestions on how to clean the bottom board?

How far do you want to go? Total strip and washing of the board, or just remove dust? It looks like the relays are on sections of metal, lift one of the metal rectangles at a time, spray simple green, let it sit a few minutes, wipe down, repeat as needed. Or, if looking for pristine, replace the bottom board with brand new. Take lots of pics and measurements, and transfer over to the new board.

There are lots of other folks out there who have more experience and expertise. Hopefully, they will chime in.

Anyone know where i can get a score wheel for midway’s rodeo machine?

not doubting your skills, but personally i'd go with a tidy up using a soft paint brush and compressed air.

not too hard with the air or you'll tear the paper strips.

get het up and running then tackle how far you want to go cleaning her up.

i see some rivets missing from the lower stepper board.

all relays will need there contacts cleaned, checked for operation and spring checked for tension.

big job, but exciting all the same.

after a general clean i'd start with the power supply.

and likely all mechanical components will need stripping and rebuilding.

Don’t ask me how I know this, but before going down the full clean and shine, make sure the machine works

I did use the air. After replacing the electric cord I turned the machinr on. And some things are working. I will start making a list of items that don’t work but cant be sure about the point value yet.
I am talking with a company with a 3 d printer about making new score wheels and cams. Two wheels had melted sometime ago.
