I've removed the solenoid bracket for the ball popper & want to replace the sleeve / spring but I'm not sure how I remove the black plastic end piece that the ball drops into. This is the popper that slings the ball up into the wire rails before the divertors. (I'm locked on, fire)

The plastic end can slide along the shaft & there's a pin that if removable, would let me pull off the plastic. I don't want to assume that pin moves.

The end of the silver shaft is black so maybe that black part screws off. This would do the trick too but I can't budge it & don't want to throw pliers on it unless I know it's what needs to be done.

Next, the appears to be an Allen set screw on the shaft but it's mostly obscured by the sleeve.

Can anyone let me know how to remove the black plastic ball rest? I'm a bull in a china shop kinda guy so my go to move is to try and force thing apart only to break them because I was doing it the wrong way. in this case I thought I'd ask 1st.

Thanks

Pin is removalable with needle nose pliers or push in with small screwdriver. I just rebuilt mine with a kit from pinball life on my Earthshaker. The black bands holds pin in place & they give you a spring to go under cup. $18 kit. Much better kick out now.

Thanks, that's great to know

Easier to work on if assembly is out of the game, especially if you rebuild it.

So how did you make out with kicker assembly?

You guys were right. The pin popped right out w/ a pair of needle nose. After that clean & replacing the sleeve & spring were cake. Thanks

It was working fine even before I touched it. I'm just going thru & replacing all the springd / coil sleeves. Yeah cup looks good. A couple of the other selinods are tired. Since I was servicing those I'm hitting them all. Thanks again.
