    I would avoid solvents if it is oil or latex based paint.
    If oil the milder rubbing compound may work.
    If latex a little water on a terry cloth towel may work. You could try the compound in a hidden area.
    The main concern I have for you is the overspray in the low points like the grain may be hard to get to so just focus on the high points so you don’t rub through the finish trying to get to the low ones.
