    If I'm replacing one, I twist out the single socket. If I'm replacing most or all, I take off the board which is much easier. As mentioned, taking off the board makes it easier to clean the insert (and the board topside). The other benefit is that you don't need to twist out the socket. These are finicky and can sometimes not make a good connection when you try to screw them back in.
