Curious where people found out about their last few pins. You can vote for more than one category. If I missed a category, post how you found out about it.

Last 5 are Atlantis, King Pin, SkyRocket, Volley and Ding Dong. Overpaid on Atlantis but it is very nice and now sports a Wade Krause playfield. King Pin was too much of a project and have since sold. SkyRocket was an impulse buy on a Sunday afternoon, very happy with the machine. Volley and Ding were purchased together. Had fun shopping those two out and love them both. All Ebay and had all of them shipped with the exception of King Pin which I picked up in Atlanta.

My last one was from an want ad. He had two early Bally/Sterns that haven't been used in 25 years which were found in a basement of a house that was going to be gutted. I made a deal with the guy to restore one to a players condition game one and I'll take the other one as payment. Was able to do it with parts on hand and a lot of labor.

I love finding them this way ..

    Latest/
POTC - friend who said he would sell it and bought it a couple of months later. Love it!

SMVE - friend said he is selling it and I was not sure, but it is now my favorite!

LOTR - same friend as SM was selling his HUO LOTR (for some reason?) and I remembered how my wife liked it when we did temp trade for IM and decided to get it back. Incredible pin!

TFLE - inquired a while before with a someone I kind of knew and waited and he needed space and gave me a good deal. I enjoyed it a lot, but sold it for the same good deal with another friend to get cash and space for SM purchase. Hey SM is an upgrade. No? The seller and I kept in touch and are buddies now. Awwww!

Gap and going back a year and a half -

ST Pro - bought from someone at a good price when the code was stale and Vengence MB had some magnet issues. Somehow fixed V MB and code update made this a winners. Sold to get LOTR, But miss it. Seller and I get along well still today. No way?!

My last two (Tron and Xmen) have been from a mate who wanted to change up some of his pins.

    #16 2 years ago

    Most recent to older:
-Batman 66 Premium -- NIB (Gameroom Guys)
    -Avengers Pro --NIB (Gameroom Guys)
    -Target Alpha -- Craigslist
    -Sky Lab -- Family friend
-Sky Jump -- E-bay "side deal" from a local seller. Saw it in the background of the photo they were actually selling and made a deal.
    - I have bought others from Craigslist, 2 from a friend and one from E-Bay and had it shipped from Georgia to PA. I also bought 2 serious projects from Morphy's Auction.

1 Craigslist, 1 face to face, 3 pinside.

Highlights a flaw in the poll. I assume you gave one vote to each of these, even though you used Pinside three times more often.

It's a flaw if I'm counting total number of machines, which I am not. I am counting individual's methods on how they found out about their last 5 pins.

There is - option #8. The poll only allows 9 answers, so I had to combine some of them.

The past couple years I got in many more EM Arcade pieces than pins, and honestly
can't remember the last 5. The last two were Em Sinbad and EM Joker Poker that both
were traded in from duplicate machines that I had. Now you have me thinking on what
maybe were my other 3 last pins..

    #34 2 years ago

    My last 5:

The Addams Family - through KLOV
    Ghostbusters - NIB from distributor
    Scared Stiff - through Pinside
The Walking Dead - NIB from distributor
Creature from the Black Lagoon - trade with fellow Pinsider

    #35 2 years ago

NIB STLE - Put in contact via my local distributor to private seller
    NIB Ironman - Ebay
NIB Avatar LE - Word of mouth from a fellow pinsider - you know who you are, thanks man
    NIB BM66LE - Local distributor
NIB TWD Prem - Local distributor

Although when I first saw the title of the thread I thought you where asking how we all funded our last 5 purchases.

I used to buy off of Craigslist and Pinside more, but asking prices on games have gone through the stratosphere so I have focused more on my personal connections lately.

    #37 2 years ago

Last 5 though a distributor. Several reasons wanted games in great condition, also I'm gravitating to new pins anyway, did not want to deal with physical pickup and set up in my home(moving) . I'm getting to old for that.

The fews extra bucks I spent hopefully save my back. Easy $$$ transactions, no worry's about sale process or logistics.
