All I know is as a Beatles fan and a pinball fan I wouldn't mind having one.

Greatest rock theme possible? The bottom line is that you can't really call yourself a rock fan or even a music fan if you don't include the Beatles.

Not only is it the greatest rock theme to never have been licensed for a pinball machine, it's the greatest most-coveted rock theme period.

In less than ten years these guys changed the world.

I remember in the fall of 1968 My Dad told me to drop everything and come into the living room because the Beatles were performing "Hey Jude" on live TV. He told me to sit down and watch this because "it might be the last time we ever get to see the Beatles play together". He was right. It was their second to last public performance. The only other time my Dad ever demanded that I drop everything and come watch something on TV was when Neil Armstrong walked on the moon. That's how big the Beatles were and how earth shattering of an event their final performance was.

Here they are on a rooftop a couple months later in London in January 1969. The last time the Fab Four would ever perform live together in public.

Quoted from Who-Dey:

Yeah the Beatles were huge back in the day, but not many people are nuts about the Beatles anymore sorry. Beatle mania is almost completely dead.

No offense meant but that's because you probably weren't even a stain on the backseat of your Daddy's Oldsmobile back then.

If I had to guess, I bet you weren't even alive when pinball was in it's golden age. According to that reasoning pinball must be almost dead too. That type of stuff doesn't surprise me. Of course people from your generation are going to like acts like Justin Beiber and Miley Cirus more than the Beatles. That's what you were brought up on.

Don't kid yourself though. There aren't any bands like the Beatles anymore. You could take every rock/pop band out there nowadays and add them all together and they don't have the influence on society that the Beatlemania phenomenon had worldwide in just 6 years.

Quoted from vid1900:

It's like the Model T .
Every car today is better in every way, but the Model T got the market going!

Not a very good analogy.

Quoted from Who-Dey:

You guessed wrong. I was born in 1965 so i heard plenty of the Beatles and Paul McCartney growing up and even owned some of their albums.
I do like the Beatles but im not crazy about them. I like the hair bands of the 80's and alot of 70's music also and some music before that even. I am more of a hard rock guy and 80's rock. Give me Van Halen any day of the week over the Beatles.

Yeah Van Halen had one good album (their debut). After that it was all downhill. Although I like Van Halen too, they aren't even in the same league as the Beatles. I think Eddie Van Halen would probably be the first to admit that.

As for the hair bands..... 50 years later the Beatles are still more influential than all of them combined.

Quoted from kermit24:

Oh no. Here we go again counting coils. I'll take the code and gameplay in Iron Maiden 100x over Beatles.

I'd take the theme of The Beatles 100x over Iron Maiden.

Quoted from Roostking:

It those games arent $8000.

When adjusted for inflation the original price is real close to $8,000 in 2019 dollars.

Quoted from Roostking:

So you are saying games are way underpriced now. Dont let Stern know!

No that's not what I said.

When you account for inflation the prices really haven't changed a whole lot. Pinball machines were always kind of expensive.

I'm sure Stern also paid a fairly hefty premium for the rights to use what has to be the most sought-after music theme of all-time.

So does all this mean that the Walrus wasn't Paul?
