Just thought of something funny.
Let’s say your personal situation is this ... you own at least one pin and are looking to buy nib current pin. You feel Beatles is overpriced by (0-100%) and you don’t plan on buying one. Suggested prices for platinum and diamond edition seem stratospheric and you would surely never buy one. If this fits read on ...
Per leaked packaging sales strategy we know all models will cost distributors $7k. If ALL distributors agreed to sell their biggest customers their platinum edition for $7.6k (price of a gold edition), then every such big buyer would be getting the chance to buy the platinum for price of gold. Now if YOU were offered this deal - platinum Beatles pin for $7.6k, would you take it? I am thinking I would likely buy it, a platinum would be worth $7.6k. I feel sure it could resell for the same price or higher in the future if I tired of it.
So if you were like me in top paragraph, you would never have imagined owning a Beatles gold pinball machine, much less a platinum edition, have you changed your mind? There is a set of circumstances where I would buy a Beatles pin. I still wouldn’t buy a Beatles gold for $7.6k, but I now feel the platinum is worth it. Has Stern been playing Jedi mind tricks with me? Unfortunately I don’t anticipate having an opportunity to this deal, but the fact is it COULD happen.
I don’t think the pin will sell well to end buyers (<1k made) and definitely not many to Pinsiders.
