    Quoted from Deaconblooze:

Oh that's interesting... do you have pictures to share?
I've considered it for my garage. I wonder how you clean out all the sentiment that falls through. Maybe the idea is that you don't have to, but with our winters I worry it could be more of a mess than a normal floor.

I sent you a long rambling PM

Short answer is that our pics are here: https://www.flickr.com/photos/91696572@N00/albums/72157628393138865

Installed 8 years ago and it's still great!

If there is really a flooring that collects opinions, I want it!

lol, i messed that up on a couple of levels. corrected!

    RaceDeck flooring for the win!
We have that in our basement. Switched to it after the flood destroyed the laminate wood. Great product! Oh, and nice Mustang! (and good beers too).
    Chris

Okay I have a question about RaceDeck....are there enough slots in the bottom that I could hose out sand and silt in the spring time that has fallen off the truck in the winter? The stuff that has fallen between the top and the cement.

Yes it’s very easy especially if you have free flow. I have it in my garage; not my house if that matters.

    Quoted from PanzerFreak:

That's cool about the negatives, I'm about to do something similar with old 35MM slides. A lot of the ones I need to scan have some dirt build up that I notice after scanning them. I ordered some Photographic Solutions PEC-12 Photographic Emulsion Cleaner off Amazon and cleaning wipes. It's going to take a long time to do but hey we have more time at home now right lol.
I'm also using this time to convert old home movies on VHS to digital and organizing digital pictures from over the past two decades. I have all of the photos on a NAS in RAID 5 but I'm now uploading the family pictures and video to One Drive to ensure I never lose them. My plan to is to create a shared folder on One Drive where family can pull the video and pictures they want. Figured its time I finally get this stuff organized and shared for family as otherwise no one will ever see it.

Man, just sold a Nikon Super Cool scan 9000 scanner that would be perfect for those slides. I'm using Epson 650 now, considered getting the fluid trays that gets rid of all specs. Its a messy process but fluid scanning is the best you can ask for on a Flatbed.

I’m more and more inspired by people sharing game room/ garage flooring options.
Am I staying sane in quarantine?

Still plugging away with basement renos. I had a 32" rough opening for a standard 30" door going into the furnace/storage room but with low heating ducts the door would have had to swing into the room and I really didn't like that look. So yesterday I rewired a junction box, cut a larger opening and installed some sliding doors I had in the garage. I cut and stained all the door jambs and trim the previous day and it turned out great imo. Still have to install some baseboard but i was beat by the time i snapped this pic.

I am getting the pressure test of being with someone 24/7 again. My fiancée.

This will make us all stronger in many ways, if we let it.

My fiancée and I; we have many differences, but she is the one for me. Pressure test in progress.

Also I really enjoyed "once upon a time in Hollywood" and realized that Quentin Tarantino is probably my favorite director.

Next in the project queue, dart board backer.
I grabbed three four foot long boards from my cedar pile and planed them to the same width then ripped them into 1/4" strips. Cut and glued them all down. Just waiting for the rain to stop to finish cutting the trim for it. Looks like a card table.20200426_130414.jpg20200426_130414.jpg

Having leftovers I decided to trim out the window jamb as well20200425_134842.jpg20200425_134842.jpg

Took a walk outside after working on some tough battery damaged boards. Time consuming and my eyes hurt looking at them.

    #219 3 years ago

I taught my 12 year old daughter how to solder while I was working on a board repair.

    #220 3 years ago

Finished up the dart board. Working on a framed dry erase or chalk board for cricket and 501 next

Tried my hand at this on a more primitive level (don't have all the fancy tools for things like corner rounding and what not).

Built myself a bench press. Was going to try my hand at a power rack, but one became available and I put that project on a back burner.

    pasted_image (resized).pngpasted_image (resized).png

Also made a dead-lift station. Kept it in 3 separate pieces to make it more transportable. Stained it and coated it in a protective polyurthane.

Are dentists open where you are? They're not considered essential services up here and offices are closed.

    Quoted from dirkdiggler:

They're only open for emergencies. No cleanings, etc..

Edit: I will say, I didn't know what to expect when I called. Someone actually answered and I had a choice between a 10:30 or 11:30 appointment this morning. Maybe I caught them on the one or two days they're in?

Spending lots of $$$ at CPR and Marco. I have 3 play field swaps, two cabinet repaints, and one clear coat to do. I'm good for the next 6 months.

I bought a skid of assorted doors last year and one of the mirrored bifold doors side was smashed. Wife suggested turning the remaining one into a 7ft mirror. I had the saws out out decided to make today the day to make it happen.

Painting the picket fence I built ten years ago between the days and hours of the usual mischief. One section left to go.

    Thanks!
I originally thought I was smart using oil based paint which even then you could not get of good quality here. So it is pressure washing, scraping, sanding, priming and top quality exterior water based paint now.

Applied with a 4 inch hot dog roller. One coat each primer and paint and going back over spots that look like they need it. Lotta work in the hot sun, so I take a few days off between sections. Figure I have a few more weeks before it gets real hot and the bugs come out and ruin my job.

Well that was a long 9 hours but it's finally together. When you have it in storage for 2 years and the felt folded in a box, it takes some time to smooth out the felt. Wife worked at it with a iron for a hour. Can't wait to rack a game after supper.

    pasted_image (resized).pngpasted_image (resized).pngpasted_image (resized).pngpasted_image (resized).pngpasted_image (resized).pngpasted_image (resized).png

I hand-made the dead-lift station and the grey bench. Wasn't paying $600+ for the DL station and over $250 for a bench and wait 10+ weeks. Pfft.

Between that and my Masters, I make sure I am staying busy. About to get my other "fun car" back after the wheel decided mid-drive that it was simply going to come off the hub. It was great coming home from a deployment, buying that car, and then that happening 29 days later. Almost made me an alcoholic in one evening flat.
