I'm not. All I can think about is all my friends that have died and how lucky they are to be dead. Sorry, not too inspirational, but the way the whole virus has effected me. I don't care anymore. It won't ever end.

You should - and it will.

Lucky to be dead? No offense, but you do not appear to be psychologically equipped to make it through this event. I honestly think you need professional help.

I wasn't sane to begin with so it's easy.

Quadrupled dog walks because Prada misses all her fans.

I finished scrubbing/mopping the floor. Been working on a few other things. Next up cleaning games.

Tech support has been real slow. I thought it would pick up with all the people home playing games. My theory is that maybe tech support is low because they are playing them ? Not getting home from work and that box with parts or mods arrived, so they tear into their games and break things ? Who would have thought that actually playing pinball is good for the game ?

I am actually working more than ever and traveling more than ever. Just not seeing other people, which I don’t mind too much.

We still see some close friends once in a while and it is all good.

Now the distance learning that is killing my wife off!!!

This is getting to be very hard on a lot of people. Luckily there are a lot of others coming together to help. If it is bothering you that much you might want to pick up the phone and talk to someone. There are a lot of resources set up to help people deal with this crisis. NYS alone has over 6000 mental heath volunteers chipping in right now. Insurance companies are waiving lots of co-pays too.

I'm hanging out with my wife and kids and counting my blessings. Yes, clearly this sucks. It seems that quarantining is really the only thing we can do to help, so why not make the best of it and spend time with family? Pinball helps and I'm fortunate to have tons of hiking trails we can walk to from our yard. Hoping for more nice weather so we can continue getting some exercise and spending quality time together.

    #13 62 days ago

Well for starters I'm playing a lot of pinball just don't want to get carpel tunnel. Secondly with the health club closing I brought out and am using a 20 plus year old Nordic Track for fitness. 2 days ago I was able to cycle outside about one hour or so. I'm on my 6th 1000 piece puzzle and have about 6 to go before I start over. I can work from home but it doesn't occupy much of the day. That's it in a nutshell other than odds and ends.

I would think it’s more because all the location games are just sitting. They get a lot of play, more than home, per machine. I would think that would mean they need service help most, although they “should be” better techs.
And home players probably don’t increase their playtime TOO much, I haven’t, esp. with no guests.
Just my theory, you would know better than me the ratio of home/OP for service calls, but some might not mention. I am an OP, and fortunately haven’t had to contact you.
Best wishes in tough times, LTG

    And sorry to de-rail.

Still so awkward as we approach others in the neighborhood these days.

I hear from way more home owners than OPs such as you. OPs tend to fix more than I hear about. So I thought the OP calls would be down, but not the home owners.

I’ve been flying about Asia the last three weeks. During layovers I’m solitary and isolated in Airport transit hotels, doing prison workouts and eating room service. China and Japan are beginning Clovid-19 testing for all passengers and crew. I’m flying to Guangzhou tonight and expect to get my first Covid-19 test.

    #20 62 days ago

I’m still working, and my works been busier than ever the last two weeks, as I’ve been wearing a few hats while a couple of my fellow supervisors are away in quarantine.
But the rest of my time has been at home with my family (wife and 3 young kids) so I’m loving it.
I also just built a multicade to help entertain us. It’s running retropie with 7 retro game systems and 2,986 games.
The lit top shelf/marquee space is going to have Star Wars funkos there, they just haven’t arrived in the mail yet.

Ok, that’s pretty damn cool! Nice job!

I just finished installing the JJP POTC chest mod that's been sitting on my desk for months. TBH I was a little intimidated at first. Really wasn't all that bad and it's a very cool mod. Looks great and works great! Really impressed with the fit and finish. Shout out to the designers. Next up...play the crap out of my pins. After that probably a color DMD for Black Rose and maybe a LED job for Creetch. I have to quarantine myself from the news cycle for a few days. It will drive me mad and quite honestly a little depressing to see what the health care providers are going through. They are the true heroes.

    #23 62 days ago

My job (financial markets) has been deemed essential (no comment) so I have to work. I love being busy and working but this whole deal has made me re-think my priorities because my family is genuinely kind of freaked out about this and I’ve been so busy with the market in a meltdown that it’s only on the weekends that really get what everyone else is going through. I think I just had a breakthrough haha. But to answer your question I drink whiskey and play pinball. My kids are 19 and16 so we have it easy. We have game night and movie night on the weekends.

Wife is working the hospital floor again on Sunday.

You can't stay where you've never been! In all seriousness, I live alone with my dog so it has been tough (he is bummed about not getting to go play with his friends). I make sure to keep doing my runs. I also do what social interaction I can through video chat. For example last night I had game night with my parents and on Monday I will be playing Pathfinder with some friends. Just because you are alone does not mean you can't still get together with people. I also have some small side projects, like building a thing to play my grandparents favorite game with them online. I do wish that my MMR had already arrived, as that would make this easier.

I’m still working my normal schedule and business as usual. No idea how long we’ll keep operating like that. My wife and kids have been at home and have not even left the house

Hanging with my my kids, finishing up some final rail orders. Staying busy is my prime coping mechanism. Be safe.

I have two family members that are on the front lines of this crap show. They all really need our help and support. Hopefully soon they get the equipment they need. Best thing we can do (From them) is stay home and stay healthy. A hospital is NOT a place you want to be right now. Way better to be at home playing some pinball.

Doing basement renos during the day, playing cards during happy hour with the wife and pinside, pinball and drinking in the evening. Just bought 24 cases of beer in case they shut everything down for a month.

    #41 62 days ago

Just the opposite of going insane. Before the virus life was crazy. Weekends full or errands and appointments. Work crazy as ever. Go go go constantly. Never time to work on my projects. Now it's like a month long snow day. Quiet, relaxing and peaceful. Nothing to do today but drink beer and work on pinball machines.

    #42 62 days ago

Staying sane with quarantine parody song videos? If you call this sanity.
A lot of gratuitous home studio synth stuff, a quick pinball scene in front of Back to the Future: The Pinball and a Delorean.

My yoga studio (I teach & staff) closed down hard two weeks ago. We’ve been making lemonade from the lemons, live streaming 1-2 free classes per day (we’ve wanted to get into that for a while), our social media footprint has exploded. The audio, lighting, camera (iPad) are all mine. So I’ve been busy although not sure I’m getting paid any time soon. The owner is scrambling for small business loans, grants, etc. But people are very grateful, we’re getting 100s of live views and 1000s of archived views.

I also have engineering work (consultant, can do at home) which has been fairly steady and reassuring.

I cobbled together (Electrical boxes and 1/2” EMT) a ceiling slider to mount a camera above my games for the purpose of live-streaming some “Pinball Parties” for friends. A little game play. A little history of the games. A little under the hood.

So, not bored. I live alone, so not a huge lifestyle change for me. If anything I was getting a little burned out on teaching yoga (12 years now) so the break is timely.

I've always been into puzzles. Now my wife is too. Only problem is, a 1000 piece one like this only took us 4 hours.

I've got about 50 of them and have done about 12 in the last 2 weeks. I've done all 50 before so this is the second time around.

We're going to need more before this is all over.
