Anyone interested in a World of Warcraft themed pinball machine?

I think the art of Warcraft is very stylistic and colorful and the rich history should make for a great rule set. The cabinet could be half horde and half alliance – the back glass could have horde symbol of the left, alliance on the right. The toys could be Thrall, the Lich King, etc. The playfield would look amazing just with the art assets they already have for the game – and a movie may be soon coming. I would like to see JJP do it rather than stern for the wide body, great colors, and WOZ/TH deep rule sets (guessing about the hobbit, but I think that is more JJP’s style at the moment).

Thoughts from the Pinside community on this? Has a pinball machine been made from a video game before?

I don't play WoW but if they make it like the RPG pinball game that Pezpunk was talking about in another thread, count me in!

As long as it's hand drawn art, not that low-poly-cater-to-all dookie that Blizz has filled that game with. Yuck. Everquest 2 had more detailed models when it was released 10 years ago than WoW will with the next expansion.

Might have passed the prime for Warcraft. They are probably down to 10 mil subscribers. Although with people paying 500 bucks for an ingame pet, I would bet 500 horde le's and 500 alliance le's would sell out immediately.

I think they could sale 1000 to 1500 total units.

    Quoted from Frax:

I agree that they should use the hand drawn art and not the ingame graphics (but the CG cinematics look nice in my opinion)

Agree, While I still think it could have a great ruleset and art, the prime for this was 5 years ago.

Yeah. Blizz hasn't ever had an issue with CG, but IMO their CG most of the time still ends up looking very Dreamworks-esque, or vice versa I guess. CG is just overdone to death for kids' movies at this point, and meh.

Only if it is the South Park Warcraft from the show. Timmay!!

I would absolutely buy a WoW pinball machine, even though I currently choose to play Elder Scrolls online instead.

I probably have more time in Warcraft than all other video games I've played in my life combined.

I think this ship has sailed. Maybe 5 or 6 years ago. Maybe

I've always thought this would be a great theme. I doubt it will ever happen though. I'm not sure the two hobbies intersect all that much.

    How about no?

Rather a Portal pin if any video game pin was made.

Tho, I don't play WOW anymore. I have been seriously thinking of making one in a retheme for quite some time.
WOW TCG is very good. Plays like Magic the Gathering, but fixes the flaws with MTG.
WoW Mini's game is fawking awesome. Fantastic mechanics, but was gimped by shitty development by Upper Deck.

Disclaimer: Dark Age of Camelot is a far superior game to World of Warcraft. In fact, World of Warcraft stole many aspects of DAOC and Everquest to make their game. The PVP aspects of WOW are far more inferior to those of DAOC was on the PVP servers.
