Quoted from pcprogrammer:I've never really had many bad buying or selling experiences. Just one that comes to mind, in the middle of driving to purchase a RR WOZ and, I am about 1.5 hours into the 3 hour drive and I get the call that he changed his mind. His wife said he can't sell it. So I turn around and burned about $50 in gas and had a crying kid in the van. Well known pinsider also.
Now that really sucks. I don't get the big deal of someone not responding to one message. Probably did you a favor by flaking out early. I get more irritated when people communicate well, give you the impression they are serious, and then flake out in the end. I recently sold some stuff on ebay. One guy messaged me and asked if I would ship overseas. I didn't really want to at first but then decided to since it was not selling. We went back and forth many times discussing shipping costs and price. He told me several times he was okay with paying for shipping even though it was high. I finally messaged him with final total price and then not a word again from him.
