I woke up today after having a vivid dream of my house on fire and I'm all alone trying to muscle out a couple of games before the house goes down. It got me wondering and I wanted to ask the community , Which game 1-2 are saving from certain death from your collection? This is a little different then asking what is your favorite game out of your collection. Like are you grabbing your most valuable game? CQ game? Most sentimental game? Most rare game? Or are you going down with the sinking ship trying to save all of them??

Just so we keep this pinball related , all other priorities have been taken care of and saved out of the house and you only have mere minutes by yourself to try and save these games.

For me I'm saving Hit the Deck. Most sentimental game for me and the most rare. I know I would never be able to replace the game or wouldn't be likely to. It's not even close to being my favorite game and this game is probably the lightest as well so I could probably manage to get it out myself in a pinch lol

You will be dead before getting a game out the door. O2 levels drop quickly in a fire.

Lol flatter me with the question. I could probably drag a game out of my walkout in 2 mins if I wanted to I feel like I could do that before dying especially if the fire is in a different part of the house.

If I was about to lose everything I suppose I’d just coin up bsd.....last words heard on earth....thirrrty milllllionnnn..not a bad way to go. My luck it’d be “I feel like a blundering novice”.

King Kong and Globetrotters.

California fires scene. Firemen saving a GT350. Most likely getting the car away from the flames to avoid the gasoline from igniting.

If your pins are easily accessible, you might get 1 out before the firemen arrive. Then they will not let you back in. Grab your prepared escape box, with important papers and family photos first.

I would save space station even though its easily replaced, it was our first and it's the wife's so she would make me save that one!

In case of a fire in my house....I'll save my Fire!

F the games, there are plenty more out there. I can't be replaced.

A poignant topic for us here in northern CA. But after the wife and both dogs. Either Rocky n Bullwinkle Because it’s closest to the garage door. Or 4 Square because it’s the most sentimental.

And while on the subject, and a very very very minor footnote to over 11,000 homes and 77 and counting lives lost. I wonder how many pins were lost in the Camp fire.

That is what I was wondering. And how many classic cars, too?

Grab my cat and get out! These pinball machines don’t mean too much to me. It would suck though.

Can only imagine whats been lost with all the fires over there in Cali. Pretty awful stuff..

Grab dog and go.

The rest are things.

I haven't owned a thing that was worth dying for.

I would save Shaq Attaq. The world does not need to lose another one of those. “Shoot the spinner!”

Shaq Attaq belongs in a museum. It would be careless to have one placed in a home!

HEP Addams and then Whoa Nellie.

There would be a lot of things I would save first, but if I were grabbing a pin it would Addams Family Gold edition.

Dogs, Guns, compound bow and important papers would already be in the truck.

Two years ago when there were fires where north of us you could see the orange glow over the mountains at night.
I told my wife if the wind changes direction we are calling all of our friends and telling them to come grab as many games as they can store.

Toy story is a horrible pin that your kids will hate...Moving a pinball machine out of your house that’s on fire by yourself

Pinside is just too pindiculous for me to read anymore tonight

Gonna go play a 2 player game of Monster Bush with my wife instead...

I’d save Tron. I’d like to say Metallica, but that would have to go down a flight of stairs, and that’s not happening. So I’d slide the pinball dolly under Tron and wheel it out the door.

And if I couldn’t save one, meh. As soon as I got resettled I’d borrow a game from a friend until I found a game I wanted.

Silly question - everybody knows pinball games are fireproof.

#26 5 years ago

Family and pets only. Games will be fine since none of them are in the house.

#27 5 years ago

I would get my Mac attack because it's so rare but it's extremely heavy and I would have lift it up stairs.

#28 5 years ago

I'm afraid it would be too noisy getting one out and I'd wake my wife, so none.

#29 5 years ago

None. The next morning I'd be in the business center at the hotel printing out all of the "resurgence of pinball" articles from the past couple of years and prepping my "fully restored" presentation for my insurance adjuster.
