I think your right and they are not aligned as good as they could be. I reset stuff like that on my machines. Wood skewer plug with a little white glue and shift the bracket over. Made by hand does not mean made with love…

Move them. Seriously. You can just gently bend them out of the way so the ball has the full width of the lane. If you don’t like them looking slightly askew, you can redrill the holes under the playfield.

And learn to backhand the inner loop. You’ll get it; I got good enough I could nail that shot from a cradled ball or coming off the ramp. Just takes practice like every other game
