If you think Stern pro is in the same class as JJP, then that is where we will have to stop and just agree to disagree. Just because it is a pinball doesn't make each worth the same. That's like trying to sell a used Lexus at the used Toyota price.

Ahhh JJP fanboys always entertaining and usually delusional.

Quoted from Zablon:

I find it funny that people will pretend all Stern games are gold, because most are very far from it, and I do mean MOST.

Who pretends Stern games are all gold? and what games are gold for u? very interested.

Quoted from Zablon:

I mean, I could waste my time picking everyone out on these forums, but there are statements that basically say that in this very thread. The same ones calling the people JJP fanboys are pretty much Stern fanboys.

Well I'm going to have to say it. don't buy pinball machines ever based on resale value. Why would you? I played Houdini and enjoyed it and would buy one and play it for a while then sell and yeah probably take a loss, who cares? I had my fun and I'm willing to pay for that even if its a couple G's. Oh well. With what I see other humans spending money on where there is zero return not really a big hit. Now if ur strapped for cash and need to buy extra carefully then I would say get out of this hobby all together or at least stick to used market where losses can be measured in the low 100's. Even then I know people who will consider resale. Crap in my opinion. Its supposed to be fun, its a game, Oh and about pinside and enraging JJP fanboys, might be my favorite part.

Quoted from pinnyheadhead:

Sterns are like Jeeps. JJP's are like BMW's.

As a BMW owner this analogy = Crap. Build Quality right? also crap. JJP and Stern both have the same amount of technical flaws the reason Stern seems like the greater is because they are. JJP is a boutique manufacturer and while they sell a lot of games 1 every 2 years is quite different than 6 or more with vaults and niche games like Primus.

Quoted from pinnyheadhead:

Anyway I don't have a BMW now but my 4 year, 4 month old Audi with 30,000 miles (yes I don't drive a lot) had an airbag fail last week and cost me $850. Didn't blow or anything. The airbag light came on. Yeah. So you can see where I am coming from on German "quality" from a higher priced vehicle. But I love my Audi so I just pay and move on.

Oh yeah. I won't buy another BMW. Lease one maybe. I've had this one for 15 years and like you I don't drive that much it has 180K on it but its fading fast. The last couple years have been expensive. I just don't see the anaolgy with JJP vs Stern. Who cares anyway.
