It has been a crazy 14 months since we started on Houdini and I am happy to say our first machine has shipped and a few more will be on their way today. When we announced we would have a prototype game at TPF, the general belief was it would be little more than a flashing box of lights, but the world of pinball was shocked when we showed up with two fully functioning prototypes, designed, built and coded in just four months. Then the naysayers were saying no way could we be shipping by the end of the year, well once again we have achieved what few thought was possible and have shipped our first games.

The first handful of games are leaving here today and a couple should be showing up on location in Wisconsin and Iowa in the next few days. I expect another half dozen or more should ship out over the next week to different parts of the country. Most of our distributors are going to try to get these first games into their showrooms or out on location so as many people as possible can start to enjoy them.

Here are some photos from the last days, leading up to the first game shipping. As I've said, while our goal remained to ship by end of year, that no games would ship until they were ready, and were fully blessed by Joe, Jim and myself.

Here you can see Joe checking one of the games and making some final adjustments.

I like the little homemade tool you made to hold the flaps open on the cardboard box. Simple and smart.

#7 6 years ago

Congratulations to the whole crew!
I stood there for 30 minutes, game off at Pin a go go in May in Dixon Ca. Stood there, game off, hands on flipper buttons, staring, just staring and admiring machine.
It wasn't even on, and i wanted one. Still do more than ever.
Are the games going to be numbered?
I want one soon, no dealers near me im Anaheim Ca, so thinking JJ at game exchange best option of getting one by Feb 1!

Special thanks to Ryan White from American Pinball for showing me your fantastic facility and for letting me be a part of the first Houdini pinball to be shipped and picked up from my very good friend Mike from Great American Pinball.

This is tooooooooooo AWESOME. THIS machine was a hit at Allentown and I am so excited to see them rolling out to the market. I really hope it is a great success and leads to a game number 2. Way to take the plunge and create and deliver on a great much anticipated machine with NO DRAMA!

Great! Congrats!

I hope to buy one next year!

One thing, though, what if Houdini escapes from the box before it is delivered?

I’m guessing the money in your wallet will disappear faster! lol

This title had a little bit of a rocky start, best left behind, but man, when you guys tossed the initial work and started over I’m beyond impressed by how fast you made it all come together. No small feat!

Looking forward to the reports from home ownership, wishing you all the best of luck in 2018.

Congratulations AP! Awesome job! This was the surprise hit for me at AllenTown earlier this year. I think this one is going to make it into my lineup over the next year. Now to figure out ... what to sell.

Beginning to think we only need 3 pinball co.’s

Spooky for pro level games

AP for premium level games

And JJP for the highest tier

#41 6 years ago

Congrats! Any estimation, when will the Houdinis land to Europe?

#42 6 years ago

Just placed my deposit today. Really a great looking game and I’m really looking forward to owning my first American Pinball game.
