Quoted from lpeters82:

Of course. Bare minimum, I'd expect a loop and jump.

That is boring as hell. The game better have 3 loop de loops and 3 ramps. Plus the ball starting from inside backbox at top and this would get my attention. The fact it is Hot Wheels is a plus as it includes most car makes and models. AP might even have monkeys driving the cars and running over pedestrians.

Quoted from pipes:

I haven't even given a single thought about Hot Wheels anything since I was about 8 years old. Is there a large base of adult Hot Wheels aficionados out there somewhere? Is this a collective effort or is there one guy giving the green light for these themes over at AP?

Saying the Hot Wheels fan base won’t be buying this pin is true because they don’t buy pinball machines. History has shown us no theme’s fans buy the pinball. Paying $8k for a toy is reserved for the rich. No theme ever has created sales from a fan base of non-pinball people, so why should this be any different?

I am thinking R&M might be the first theme to transcend this curse. Because so many of its customers are already pinheads, Spooky is giving people what they really want.

Quoted from Mr68:

What? I didn't know that. Please appeal to the moderators as I would love to have you back in that thread.

I don’t want to know what you have to do to get kicked out of an off topic thread on toys. I read most of that thread and don’t remember anyone mentioning hot wheels. Was no market research done by American Pinball?

Quoted from o-din:

Really? That's what you get for putting me on ignore.[quoted image]

I do remember that now. I was jealous seeing so much track with one person. But my quote could be modded to read 1 guy out of 2000 pages found hot wheels hot. Congrats you are American Pinball’s target demographic.

That Hotwheels setup and commercial are great.

TPF sounds pretty exciting, with rumors of 2 new machines by American Pinball, 1 or 2 from Deeproot and possibly 1 from JJP. If my math is correct, that’s 5 new pins. That’s not counting what we don’t know. Wish I had the time to go this year but haven’t made a TPF yet.

I collect $2 comics and spongebob is a fav cartoon. Where could I buy a $10k pinball machine with one of those themes? Theme is nice but unless it is well executed, it means nothing. If done correctly, almost any theme pinball can sell. A good theme well executed will fly off the shelf.

R&M is a good theme and sold 750 units. That is less than the 1k sales threshold we’ve heard Balcer say is needed for a successful pin. So from American Pinball’s perspective they need to pick a great theme and execute well to sell 1k pins. Hot Wheels is not a great theme.

If HW is fun and up to the standards of AP, I’ll be happy playing it in location. So it could prove to to be a hit for AP and I wouldn’t need to own it.
