Misdirection or testing waters for a future title.
No HW pin.

Quoted from Coz:Totally unrelated to hot wheels, but the new Netflix movie 6 underground is very similar to the new fast and furious movies. Check it out if you like crazy car chases and action. I watched it a few nights ago.
Could be the next AP pin! Is this a leak?
Quoted from J85M:God no! That movie was complete shit, The Rocks lost the plot, pulling down helicopters with his bare hands while holding onto the back of a pick up truck, garbage!!
Oh, I totally agree. I was merely pointing out the most recent movie in the franchise.
But hey, think of the mods!!!
Quoted from PokerJake:Better theme than Stranger Things...
Not a valid argument. Themes shouldn't be a best of the worst. We should "want" to buy a game, not "settle" on one
I really think the topic stats (number of posts) says it all.
I'm hopeful this was just a misdirection. I'd like to see AP pull off something similar to what happened with Rick & Morty.
Quoted from majicman110:Isn't pinball all about marketing to the little kid in each of us?
Don't get me wrong, I never had hot wheels and I'm not into cars, but I was also shocked when I found out about the number of people that thought Wonka was a good theme. I don't know anyone that ever saw that movie, so I can't believe anyone over the age of 5 would be interested in it.
I also don't know any guys my age that saw the Pirates of the Caribbean movies. I always thought that those movies were for 12 year old girls that liked Johnny Depp.
I like listening to Kaneda, but laugh out loud when he talks about Transformers or He-man being a good theme.
I am not insulting any of the above people, just saying that people that care about theme in pinball tend to be fueled by nostalgia. So if you weren't into what I was into when we were kids, then we will think each other's dream themes are dumb.
Is hot wheels a good theme? I don't know. But it dosen't sound any dumber to me that Pirates, Wonka, He-man, Muppet Babies or the Letter People.
But then again when I see these machines I just play them and I'm glad to be playing pinball. If I think a machine is fun I keep playing it. If not, I switch to another machine.
So if you hate hot wheels, then go get a rick and morty, wonks, stranger things, iron man, star wars, celts or one if the dozen other games you can get nib right now
You lost me at not knowing anyone that saw Wonka,,,
I see Rick & Morty apparel worn all the time, by several demographics.
Stranger Things I only see on young teens.
Hot Wheels,,, maybe I just haven't noticed?
Quoted from Dr-pin:Sorry to say, i get a terrible wibe.
Yeah, I didn't want to be a nay sayer, but that ad (to me) is a terrible waste of money. It doesn't make me excited or eager, just sort of,,,,
I was trying to think of what else it could have been, but other than Diablo, I came up with nuttin'.
I hope they have a solid hit, whatever it turns out to be.
I'm thinking if this theme were going to make it big, there would be more positive hype on this forum.
I'm not doubting many "older" guys collect Hot Wheels, what I'm hesitant to say is that those that do, and are not on this forum/thread are going to spend 7k on one.
If it turns out to be Hot Wheels, then I hope I'm wrong on all accounts. We need AP to keep everyone honest.
Quoted from Yelobird:Sorry but thats not really the Pinside way. lol Tear it down, speculate, condemn it before release Then play it and its all good again.
Hahaha! You are correct sir!
Quoted from LTG:https://spongebob.fandom.com/wiki/SpongeBob_SquarePants_Soccer_Shot_Pinball
Been done. Not the greatest. Didn't set the world on fire.
LTG : )
C'mon LTG, this isn't even close to what we're talking about. Are you just fanning the fire?
Quoted from delt31:Ok I obviously took this way off topic but as a numbers guy yes, the numbers show the economy was super strong including a massive jobs increase. This is ALL coronavirus related. But back on topic! I won't mention it anymore.... My bad. Haha
This is a "normal" correction to adjust inflation and Fiat money. It was coming one way or another.
This was not a political thing. Each side will blame the other because neither can fix it.
-----------------
As to Hot Wheels,,,,, meh. Nothing in terms of theme or execution is enticing me. That's ok so long as it thrills a bunch of people willing to purchase some machines.
I hope AP sticks around, and I hope they find some pace soon.
Quoted from PinMonk:When they asked for a show of hands of the potential upcoming themes at a show panel, only Sherlock got a significant number of hands.
"Well played" regarding Poker Run.
Quoted from Azmodeus:A slight digression...
When I was sixteen, my trailer burned to the ground while I was away. I had one small white box of redlines from my youth until then. Mongoose snake red baron jackrabbit. Destroyed or stolen in the fire.
Now I'm 52. My whole life I have missed those redlines.
I constantly bought them for my kids. (Or did I buy them for myself?)
I only kept a handful, but I really love those hot wheels. Ingrained in me over time.
Theme is important.
So you're buying a HW?
