all was fine till now. now, sometimes the ball count unit wont step up after a ball is lost.
you could technically play ball "1" more than once, same with ball 2 or 3.
assuming the step up coil is fine, what triggers it to step up?
it steps down correct at starting a game.

it does this in multi player games as well.

The circuit to the ball-count unit stepup coil is as follows:

NO switch on the outhole relay (has red/green wire to one of the tab ends)
NC switch on the extra ball relay (has red/green and red/white wires to the tab ends)
NO switch on the ball index relay (has red/white wire to one tab end)
NO switch at level A of motor cam 1 (2nd cam from the left side) (has blu/red and black/red wires)
Then, the path goes through the spiders of the Player Unit and the Coin unit.

NO= Normally Open; NC = Normally Closed.

I would check/clean/adjust the first 4 switches listed above, before messing with the Player and Coin units. Those units would likely either have a spider arm not making good contact or a wire broken off the circuit board from one of the copper traces.
