Hello,
I have a Whirlwind, and a Funhouse that seem to be plagued with the horizontal kickers getting stuck in the "out" position. So when the coil is fired, the plunger will extend to its outer limit like it should, but then it will get stuck on occasion. Also happens more if two balls get loaded. I can shake the cabinet and that will jar the plunger loose, but I would like a better solution.

The sleeves in the coils are brand new. The plunger shafts are clean and lightly polished, and show no signs of damage. Best I can tell is that the round-like weight on bottom of the shaft, is sticking to the angle bracket under the coil. I have dabbed a very light amount of grease on the weight, to discourage it from sticking. That only helped a slight bit. So why does that round weight want to hang things up?

Thanks

Stronger return spring ? A bit of oil on kicker shaft where it rotates ?

LTG : )

I have encountered slightly bent brackets that would cause very light pressure to the plunger.

maybe the screws are too long and touching the side of the plunger?

Bottom of the plunger gets magnetized which helps to hold it up - I forget how I fixed that one.

Grease will do nothing though, clean that off.

That really does make sense to me! I will look into making some kind of insulator if I cant find a way to de-mag it. I could also use a stronger return spring as long as it does not reduce kicking power.

I will even try to attach that 90degree bracket a bit crooked to reduce contact area too.
