I specifically wanted to mention that the 11/8 Fountain Square tournament requires an event ticket to be purchased online in advance (limited number), which I just now noticed is available for purchase. 2014 IFPA Indiana State Championship information

The IFPA tournament calendar has been updated with information about the 2014 Indiana State Championship which will take place on Saturday, February 7th, 2015 at Barton’s Pizzeria in Hammond, IN. Some of you may be familiar with Barton’s as a tournament was held there earlier this year. I would like to thank Jim of Barton’s Pizzeria for providing the tournament location and also thanks to Kevin of the Northwest Indiana Pinball League for providing tournament machines! Much appreciated!

See links below for some information about the Indiana state championship and how to qualify. Additional information about the specifics on tournament day (list of tournament machines, etc) will be provided as we get closer to February 7th. Thought I would use this thread to also communicate. I sent the following emails to the top 50 ranked players in Indiana for which IFPA has an email address for on file. Please respond to that email or this thread. Let me know if you have any questions.

Hey guys,

I am contacting you regarding the 2014-15 IFPA Indiana State Pinball Championship, to be held Saturday, February 7th at Olympia Lanes in Hammond, IN.

Practice will start at 1pm central time, with the State Championship starting at 2pm central time.

Registration is open until Sunday January 11th, 7pm central time, at which time if a response has not been received by the IFPA, we will remove you from the eligible players list and fill the field with those players ranked below you that have accepted the invitation.

Please respond to me via this email by Sunday January 11th with your full name and whether or not you can attend.

IFPA Indiana State Championship

I sent out an email to the top 50 ranked people in Indiana. Please respond to that email if you are attending or not attending the Indiana State Championship. If you didn't get that email and you are in the top 50 please let me know.

The following link shows the registration status for each state as the 16 spots are being filled. Please let me know if there is a mistake for Indiana. Also, I would like to get a couple of alternate spots after the 16 are filled in case someone backs out later.

IFPA Indiana State Championship - stepping down

Hey guys, Tom V. from Lafayette here. Just letting you all know that I will be stepping down from running the Indiana state championship. I need to focus on other things in my life. I talked to Josh S. and he said it would be helpful if I could find a replacement and let him know. There isn't much different for running the state championship as there is any other tournament, in fact it is easier because all of the qualifying is already done by that point! I thought it best to let all of you know to see who all would be interested in picking it back up.

I personally would recommend Tommy S. from Lafayette. He now runs the Lafayette league, MSA monthly, started the MSA super-selfie league, runs excellent charity tournaments, hosts "This Flippin' Podcast", hosts his own pinball Twitch stream, is proficient in social media and tournament apps, knows a lot of people in the hobby, and in general would be the best option for what the state championship is really for: to get new, younger people into the hobby.

But, I wanted to make sure I let everyone else know I was stepping down to see if anyone else is interested. Any takers?
