Bought a Data East Hook, the Display was out when I bought it, and before I bought it I looked to make sure it wasn't unobtanium. I found one at the PinLed.de site, and unlike all the other web sites I checked, they said they had it in stock. Three days later I hadn't heard anything so I checked their web site and the guy attaches a note to the finished order that says, "Out of stock for 10 weeks, hope you have a little patience." Honestly, I'd have a little more patience with the situation if he'd been up-front on the web site and SAID the thing was being restocked, or anything other than "in stock." That said, I read other places on the net where it says eventually people had gotten their merchandise from this guy. So, I just don't want to have my game sitting for two and a half months with no display.

Does anyone know of anywhere one can get these oddball 256-16 mini-displays - in a timely fashion? That, or get the one I have fixed? I didn't find much online for testing, or debugging these displays. I wouldn't be adverse to doing a bunch of soldering, I see others have replaced the display and that fixed the thing, keeping the board - but I'm not sure it's just the glass. The display is just dead. The previous owner said it just "Faded out over the course of a few weeks."

I would probably rather have a brand new one in there if possible. I wonder if these led ones come in different colors? I saw a Xenon that had color displays in it and it looked pretty sharp!

I should have started here first instead of just finding the cheapest one online that said they had it in stock. Check Pinside First!!

PinLed.de refunded my money for that display. That makes me happy at least. =)

I ended up getting one from KSArcade. It's on it's way!

Along with the flipper kit, and a little TLC the game will be ready for action!
