Quoted from truemagoo102:Yep. A lot of the callouts still there, they are just sampled from the movie.
Does anyone know if it's possible to install this sound package and try it on the VPX version of the table? My wife happens to like the original sounds and would like to see this in action for a bit before deciding on whether to purchase.
Feels like they might sell a lot more if this was easier to demo.

She won't like it. She'll love it. My word is my bond... er, not junk bond!

I'm still a bit confused on what I need to buy as well. The Neo looks like it serves my needs, but they really don't make it simple!
The basic pinsound board will replace your soundboard and let you run the original sound/callouts and custom mixes as well. So you can play the original mix by just turning your volume know in the cabinet if you want. You won't though, once you do the custom you won't want to go back. I think they made upgraded pinsound boards that will allow you to trigger a shaker motor as well. I can imagine that would be awesome getting the 10 mil pirates shot and have the shaker go off!
Hey all! I'm trying to get a hold of the 5.01 rom of the game, but it looks like mattsbasementarcade.com is not shipping any out for the foreseeable future. Does anyone here know where I can get a hold of the cpu and display set?
Joined the club this weekend...picked up a pretty decent copy of this game at Allentown in the flea market section. I have a couple minor issues to fix, but overall am very pleased with this purchase and lack of general wear on the playfield. The spiral ramp is close to mint. Stay tuned...

Be sure to donate to Chad as he doesn’t get the funds from those who burn his ROMs.

Thanks! I've got a handful of options it seems as a few others have reached out to me as well. And I'll be sure to donate to Chad.
So I ordered a Pinsound and got it up and running, but now I'm trying to figure out how to make it switch between the original audio package and the updated one. Do I need to load both onto the USB? The new sounds are awesome but I still would like the ability to go back to the original music as there is a nostalgia I will always have for it from back in the day.
Thanks all!
Hi all!
My hook is back after 7 months of repair... so glad to get it back!
By the way I have this message regularly, I've tried the lauch ramp but there no marbles in, baseball et and the windcaster jackpot but I never get it..
Some of you know what ramp is about?

You load both and turning the volume all the way down and then back up we'll make a jingle sound and switch between the libraries. Enjoy!
Hi everyone,
New owner of a Hook, there is something that bothers me, once I power up the pinball, there is a buzz, from the speakers, quite loud, and I have to turn up the volume to cover it... any ideas for lowering it and where it comes from? thank you.

Do a search on Data East Speaker buzz, a prepare to jump down the rabbit hole.

I floated the sound board and got rid of most of my buzz. Get some nylon washers, take the sound board out, put nylon washers on before screwing sound board back on.
Disclaimer: not my idea, I read the above mentioned Data East Speaker Speaker Noise thread that had a lot of different ideas, this was one of them, I tried it and it worked. I believe others tried and some worked some didn’t.
What's everyone's chase light board mounted to? Mine came with the board missing and the spot where it used to be is just the cabinet wood. No plate or anything.
Quoted from truemagoo102:NICE! You're going to make a killing reproducing those ramps
I don't even need a ramp as mine is in real good shape, but I would buy one just to make it mint again.
Quoted from kba78:Yep, just mounted to the wood with 4 screws and 4 stand offs
Got the replacement board mounted and the rope lights work beautifully. Thanks!
On a side note, can anyone post a pic of the front of the windcoaster ramp? The right post on mine isn't actually mounted. It's just sort of floating, which has been working up to this point. I want to replace it but I'm not sure what part to use. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
20220525_231031 (resized).jpgEvery so often if feels like my left flipper loses power and lowers while the button is held for a second. I can't repeat it to test, no rhyme or reason. Anything you'd check out?

Mine was doing this. I replaced the flipper buttons and re-soldered everything relating to the left flipper and never had the issue again
Hi!
Question fellows, whether I have a score of 15000 or 150000, he no longer offers me an extra ball, when shooting the 3rd ball or on the cannons on the left side and this overnight.. nothing to do with a change of ROM it worked before and after the change so far..
Has this ever happened to you? any setting to suggest?
Its the same for me when i change to the new ROM to, the game no longer offers an extra ball on ball 3 and the cannons
Quoted from Run22:Its the same for me when i change to the new ROM to, the game no longer offers an extra ball on ball 3 and the cannons

EE218674-62B3-4CAE-AC61-8300AA4AF6B2 (resized).jpegI have a limited number posted...just to get the ball rolling. More will be added in the coming days.
I just sent the decals off for repro, so they could be available around a month from now. Or, you can reuse your old ones...mine came off perfectly using the freeze spray method.
20220723_215645 (resized).jpgTook the leap and took hook completly apart. Restored the cabinet, primed and then painted black. Once painted alternate cab decals from retro refurbs were applied and the cabinet was sprayed in an automotive clear. Very happy with how everything turned out now its time to re assemble and do a nos playfield swap. Might have to get some new ramps.

I believe it's close to the rearmost underside of the playfield, possibly obscured by wiring.

Thanks, I have checked all around for the eye-hook, under wires etc. Since I can not find an eye-hook, I'm still not sure how this works.
