There are 3 types commonly called "hooded" (as you note) - the non-hooded are called "tombstones" (for bally) and "chichlets" (for stern).
If you're going to replace the targets.... get the correct ones. The Tombstones. It 'shouldn't' make a difference, but the hooded are fatter so there is less room for adjustments if needed. Since Bally drops are notorious for bricking, you'll want that extra space.
