I was talking with Jim and if we get 15 people together we could donate and rent SS Billiards for the day, it'd be fun.

#38 10 years ago

If you guys ever have spare time, facebook creep on LTG's page. Lots of pictures and lots of history and its all really cool to see.

Lots of people, like Jersey Jack, Steve Ritchie and a lot of others have been at his place at one point or another. Its also really fun checking out all the machines that he has had at one point or another.

#60 10 years ago
Quoted from PunishersLEMC:

Let's blow the roof off this and raise enough to get a Luci pin for us all to enjoy at SS too!!!!!
Happens to be a pin Lloyd would gladly buy next if he could.. He talks about it all the time

I was talking with jim about this earlier and with pinballnut, but I was thinking we could add on another goal. If we hit the $8500 and go above and beyond to either get $4500 more for a star trek or $7000 more for a Luci then I would cater in $500 in BBQ for a new pin party. LTG was telling me that when he would buy a new pinball, he would cater in Famous Daves and invite everyone in for a little pinball party. I'd like to bring that event back and have a good time with my fellow pinball buddies.

By giving back to LTG, we're investing in our community and making a great part of history even better.

(BBQ would be from QFanatic)

We'll have to wait and see what type of quote Kris had looked Iinto

#88 10 years ago
Quoted from LTG:

This seems to be coming together. A friend will spray the ceiling. People have offered labor when it comes time to move equipment. And more perks coming.
With that in mind I'm thinking of a small party for those providing the man power, and a big one day party when it's done for everyone, complete with Cheese Pump. I'll be kicking around ideas and do something.
I know not everyone donating will be able to attend. But when it's done, if you ever get here for a visit to see what you helped do, please let me know and I'll make your visit extra special.
Huge thank you !

Good Job Guys, 66% in under a week!

#109 9 years ago

Woot, 74%.

I talked with Qfanatic and it looks like $500 should feed about 100 people. I asked about brisket and pulled chicken and some basic sides. I might look into getting a ton of ribs and some brisket instead, but not sure.

Lets get this baby up and over the goal so we can get lloyd a new pin!

#111 9 years ago
Quoted from LTG:

I wouldn't get all excited yet. A long way to go.
My experience is just go with the ribs. What people go for and easiest. Most other items get ignored and tossed out.
LTG : )

Too late lloyd, already getting excited!

Thats kinda what I was thinking too. Worst case sceanario is that I bring home extra ribs and I have no problem with that.

#120 9 years ago

I'm going to go bother LTG and prada tomorrow and try and up my score on WOZ. I heard that this is the last WOZ in the state at a public venue, pretty lucky to have lloyd around to give players this opportunity to play this game.

#122 9 years ago
Quoted from pinballnut3:

Let me know when Lordless i may swing by and say HI!

It'll probably be in the afternoon sometime. I'm making a trip up to the pinballwarehouse to pick up some pinball glass then was going to have lunch in champlin, then head up to hopkins after.

#130 9 years ago

It was great playing pinball today and meeting more local pinheads. I met a guy and asked how long he has known lloyd and he said probably about 40 years now. Its great that this type of relationship is possible and its great hearing about the history of the place.

#133 9 years ago

$1500 away from the goal!

#136 9 years ago

I may have a lead on someone who wants those two working rush 2049's

#139 9 years ago
Quoted from pinballnut3:

Wow. I cant believe this! So close......WE can do it lets get to $8500 before friday!.
Lets do it!

Holy smokes, batman!

We're at 92%

#151 9 years ago
Quoted from Pinchroma:

100% Ladies and gentleman! A generous Anonymous poster finished it off.
Now let's see if we can get Lloyd a few extra bucks for those incidentals. Anyone think 10k is plausible?

Bring the JJP crew to check out the place after we fix everything up!

#158 9 years ago

#160 9 years ago

Lloyd, I'll be by on thursday to bother you and prada. I have a job interview over at PGC Solutions, hopefully it goes well~

#169 9 years ago
Quoted from presqueisle:

OK, true story.
I check out Pinside frequently as a stress reliever. The positive energy is therapeutic. Lloyd doesn't know me, but he makes my day sometimes (Dear Lloyd posts are a must read by themselves). So, I felt I should pay back. I had trouble with my computer... and I put off donating, but finally got around to it today. Within hours of donating... I
1) Stumbled across an awesome Wedge Head that I will be adding to my collection soon (this hasn't happened in a long time).
2) and received 'winks' from two different ladies on Match.com (hadn't had activity in almost as long).
So, not saying this will happen to you, but KARMA baby!
Thanks again Lloyd!
Dave

LTG might turn his smiley face into a winkie face for you if you're on a roll.

Any updates on adding t-shirts or something to the rewards?

#183 9 years ago
Quoted from Whysnow:

34 days to go. Can it hit 200%?

$200 a day doesn't seem to outlandish. I could see it happening.

#194 9 years ago
Quoted from Craig:

Do you want some other stuff to auction? For example, I have a Diner repo cup that was never installed and so is in perfect condition. I paid something like $70 for it. (Actually, if it is the one I got from Australia, I paid over $100 for it.) Would anyone like to buy it and have the money go to help Lloyd? I'd take any bids starting at $50. Let's see if anyone is interested. If so, I will put a short deadline on the bidding so this doesn't go on too long.

$50

#200 9 years ago
Quoted from Craig:

Very good. Let's let this run through the weekend. I'll drop the gavel at 10:00 p.m. EST on Sunday. Any other bids?

Don't spill your pizza rolls

I've been trying for years to get them to bring back taco pizza rolls, but they won't listen to one man on a quest. Those things were the best pizza rolls ever. I probably ate 52 bags a year.

I just contacted totinos, hopefully they accept my invitation to stop by their HQ and tell them why're they were wrong for discontinuing those rolls.

What happened to the t-shirts. Did they go with the cup?

The t-shirt goes until the fundraiser ends

I have an item to "auction" as well for Lloyd.
24" x 36" Cirqus Voltaire poster - Signed by John Popadiuk! As received from John. Has one small wear spot and VERY slight edge wrinkle. Will look awesome if framed. Price will include shipping to US addresses. Can take any additional photos you might want.
Start at, oh, $50? Will run till next Thursday (7 day auction).

Quoted from MustangPaul:

She'll see that and she'll want the game. I can see it now "oh honey that looks like a fun game, why don't you buy this one".

Only one she wants is LOTR, so I won't argue with that.

#275 9 years ago
Quoted from beelzeboob:

It would be great if somebody could YouTube some before and after footage of the inside of SS Billiards so that people can see what it looks like now versus what it looks like when the improvements are made. It would make donors feel really good about how their money was spent to help a great guy out, and save us the air fare to have to see it in person! Can anyone do that and post a link?

With Lloyd's approval I can

#319 9 years ago
Quoted from LTG:

I would like to put these up for the refresh auction. All proceeds go to Kris for the refresh.
Auction ends Friday, 5/30 at midnight. Central Standard time. I'll pay for shipping and insurance in the USA.

Don't allow these monuments of Pinball History to leave the US forever, for the unholy land of frog-eaters and Smelly cheese! Bid!
and I'll donate these $80 in any case...

Maybe split the t-shirt lot up?

A speaker light kit and an acrylic design of the winner bidders choice (shipping included) a $60+ value.
See his website at speakerlightkits.com to confirm he has one for your machine.

Anyone want to rent out LTG's for a day? Maybe challenge me to a WOZ tournament? Best 200 out of 300 games?

If we get 15 people together, that'd be $100 a person. If we get more, then the price per person goes down. I figure we can start out the day at the Chinese place next door for the lunch buffet, then pinball and some more pinball, pizza later that night and maybe some more pinball.

Just so Gary is forbidden to play WOZ.

#603 9 years ago

Prada bump!

#609 9 years ago
Quoted from beelzeboob:

I'll tell you what...if Lloyd can finally convince Jack to make some JJP neon signs like I've seen at a couple arcades in Jersey, I'll buy Lloyd's so he can "freshen" up his window with some new neon bling! That would make 3 signs that I know Jack could sell...he keeps telling me they have to be made by a manufacturer that can make them sturdy enough for shipping. Mine doesn't need to be sturdy because I'm in Jersey!
Get on that, Lloyd...and we'll both have some nifty signs! Congrats on the epic fundraiser in your honor...you deserve it!
FINAL BUMP!!!

I was thinking about buying one once I get a house, so hopefully the sooner the better. I didn't know they were that hard to get, so I'll start bothering JJP once I'm for sure in the market for one.

#614 9 years ago
Quoted from PunishersLEMC:

Last hours push!!
As most of you know PinGraffix is releasing AFM and MM custom Aprons and Pinblades
http://pinside.com/pinball/forum/topic/preliminary-wms-licensed-mm-and-afm-pinblades-and-pinaprons-pgxpps
The winning bidder of this auction will get the very FIRST set we release!! You get your choice of either AFM or MM Apron AND PinBlades - They will even look amazing on display if you do not own the game! Be the very FIRST person to own a piece of history!!
Opening Bid - $200
** The final design is not approved yet. So once approved the winner will get their choice of one apron and one set of PinBlades.

Lloyd, I have a Bally black pyramid you could have free for the line up. Needs some sorting out but between you and those helping you, I am sure it would be alive and playable in short order. Let me know, and I can figure it out with kris to get it to you or him to get playing.

I'd donate parts/labor to get it up and running if need be.

Who is in charge of creating the 80's style montage for the revamp?

#731 9 years ago
Quoted from Matt_Rasmussen:

Famous Dave's is pretty good BBQ, a lot of people are surprised when they try it for the first time.

one of these days i'll take you and jim and gary to Qfanatic for some real bbq

#738 9 years ago

Whats the current timeline again for the revamp? I was going to invite some gamecollectors over to LTG's place to trade nintendo games and play some pinball in a month or so.

#742 9 years ago
Quoted from LTG:

Well it's a little known fact that the last dinner served on the Titanic consisted of hot dogs and Cheese Pump. Unfortunately menus removed from the sinking vessel don't accurately reflect this. And proof and eye witnesses are at the bottom of the Atlantic.
So going on what information is available. At least from accounts from relatives of people that heard about something totally irrelevant. We are endeavoring to have hot dogs and Cheese Pump on deck about 4pm and a pinball tournament at 7pm. To celebrate a new pinball machine.
LTG : )

Can we get jim to sing "my heart will go on"? I'll bring my flute.

#744 9 years ago
Quoted from LTG:

I hope so. He sings it with such enthusiasm. It makes you think you are actually going down with the ship. Or wish you were. I forget which.
LTG : )

He really is the songbird of his generation, god bless him.
