I buy what I want when I want it, and I don't think much about financial impact. I have lived to watch my mother pass on before getting to enjoy any of what she worked so hard for, so that might have played into the way I feel...
I didn't have this attitude until after my children left the nest... but It is the attitude I have now. You can't take it with you, and the people you leave it to may not appreciate how difficult it was to accumulate.
