Is that the same pop design that was in Thunderbirds? Never saw the mechanicals of Thunderbirds, and found the use of a single plastic assembly and through-playfield assembly interesting.

What if the cocoon lock joke is so meta that it locks the balls during gameplay, and only releases them after the end of the game?
