When you have time a video of the machine assembling the MPU would be cool

3 weeks later
#101 2 years ago

I don't know Mike
There is a small factory in Geelong that recently closed that hadmost of the equipment to make a pinball machine

1 week later
#149 2 years ago

Yeah, but that small number of fully paid preorders get their games first

#157 2 years ago
Quoted from transprtr4u:

What an effort I would love to know what the "feel" of these games is going to be? There is a noticeable difference between a Williams/Bally's and the modern Sterns!
Hope it's old school !

I am expecting the game to feel as solid as a rock.
Mike has a reputation to over engineer everything he does

#177 2 years ago

Merry Christmas Mike

4 weeks later
#233 2 years ago

it is a weird mix of automated and manual labor

2 months later
#337 2 years ago

So, over the last month, we have seen;
pop bumper assemblies
drop targets
switches
plungers
topper covers
and cabinets being painted

are you still assembling circuit boards in house Mike?

1 week later
#363 2 years ago

ohhhh. i see a cabinet fitted with decals and a backbox with the EL panel fitted

how many test cabinet have you built Mike?

#376 2 years ago
Quoted from pocketscience:

Live? No, but some of us have visited Mike... I'm well overdue for another...

at least we know what bar to go to

1 week later
#413 2 years ago

cool, us early buyers seem to get a bargain

edit
and we get a topper

#424 2 years ago

I believe Mike will ramp up production once the initial game get out and people see how awesome it is

1 month later
#559 1 year ago
Quoted from PinSinner:

It's unlikely that Mike will have the test machines sited by then. (Correct me if I'm wrong Mike) But if so, take a few sneaky pics and a video or two and PM me.

already have people keeping an eye out

3 weeks later
#657 1 year ago

@ homepin fans, dont worry Mike will be back

#680 1 year ago

why has it got a DMD?

needs more Nixie tubes

#682 1 year ago
Quoted from J85M:

I might be in the minority but I am pretty excited this has a DMD if the sneak peak at the DMD animations is anything to go by then custom dots on this game could be awesome and way better than just clips from the shows loosely tying into modes etc.

i also want a countdown clock made with those numbers that flick down

#729 1 year ago

or simply ban trouble makers/trolls
i also belong to an adult Lego forum, bigger than this site.
they have zero tolerance for negativity, i think you may get one warning, then you are permabanned

I'll ask the mods this, have you ever had a repeating offending troll ever see the light ahd change his attitude?

#752 1 year ago

he was posting on AA yesterday
maybe there is nothing new to report?

#754 1 year ago

right now Mike is building a handful of proto types to put on location in China, i am not expecting him to post photos of these games
his next move is pinball expo in Newcastle, and a big reveal there. id expect a few pictures of a game being loaded in a container, but n9thing else until the expo

2 weeks later
#841 1 year ago

Mike does not want to deal with people who are contantly attacking him or his bussiness (none of us do), and why should he?

you dont like the theme, dont buy the game
dont like that is made in China, buy a stern
pissed off that it has taken longer that expected. unless you have money down then it is none of your business

1 week later
#863 1 year ago

im guesing that top one is for the backbox
looks like it will blind the player

2 weeks later
#963 1 year ago
Quoted from J85M:

Awesome thanks for the quick reply Mike, looking forward to this and the other toy/reveals.
Any chance you can tell us what will be represented in the game, you have shown Thunderbird 1 & 2 and mentuioned the mole several times and shown the mech for that, will there be a Thunderbird 3/4/5 mech?

originally t4 was under the playfield
t5 is the topper

#965 1 year ago
Quoted from J85M:

I know you say originally, do you know if this is this still the case Pete?

t5 topper, yes
t4, i dont know

#968 1 year ago

re t4, it was on some drawings that Mike posted very early (pre pinside) in TAG development

#970 1 year ago
Quoted from musketd:

Mike
Will all the games come with the topper even if we didn't pre order?

bassed on Mike has posted pictures of topper domes by the 100s, id say something is planned, just not the animated topper preorders get

#972 1 year ago

J85M, the pinball landscape has changed much since the original TAG announcement
the companies you mentioned had not imploded

at the time that Mike announced TAG, the JJP Australian distributor went belly up
so that made aussie preorders hard

TAG was (i think) only going to be an Australian release (get the factory running, then sell to the world)

#976 1 year ago
Quoted from DDDwingmaster:

Is it an artifact of the photo, or are the rails really square? Possible they are made using a laser cutter, and you would not need to bend . Just put them together. Nice.

laser cutter or 3D printed
look like they go together like a jigsaw puzzle, the welded or glued?

#989 1 year ago
Quoted from rubberducks:

Does it have any problems with EMI, or is the toroidal a big enough improvement in that regard that it's a non-issue?

Mike has been doing this long enough, electrically wise, the game will be over engineered

#1025 1 year ago
Quoted from Sly_Old_Devil:

Game is shaping up very nicely IMHO.
I know this has been talked about in the past but I don't recall the programmer and designer being named (only who it wasn't, Jpop). One assumes that the game credits will give/provide the information so it should be public soon enough...any Pinileaks anyone?

I've got two guesses,
Barry Oursler, BSD is one of Mikes favorite games
Python, i think TAG would have been a theme he would have liked

1 week later
#1096 1 year ago

Mike made sure the power supply was adequate to handle mods, but leaves no space for mods

1 month later
#1909 1 year ago
Quoted from Kombi:

.
Do we know who did the playfield design?

Who worked on the game has been posted somewhere.
But no work had been done by any one with experience designing games

#1959 1 year ago

What updates are you expecting Wiredoug?

The machine has been unveiled, Mike is working on a few alterations that will not affect the look

Only update I am looking forward to is when he announces that production has started on customers game
(Which won't be for another six months)

1 week later
#1983 1 year ago
Quoted from HighProtein:

Can we hit pause on this thread until the game ships next year?

And when is this shipping date?

Id love it if Mike would get back online, learn to ignore the trolls, and keep us up to date on TAGs refinements

3 weeks later
#2016 1 year ago
Quoted from wiredoug:

this is indeed the important but but you wont get answers here. email him or msg to https://www.facebook.com/homepin.factory/

Yes, after 4 years of holding your $$, the buyer should be running after Mike for updates

#2018 1 year ago
Quoted from wiredoug:

after any period a buyer with a question for a vendor still needs to ask that vendor .. not post it online for others to play "stacks on" with..

and the updates that Mike has posted lately;
saw highend cars
ate cake
controller board for Bad Cats
filed tax return
gained a certificate for trademark
mentioned that TAG plastics had to be redrawn (two weeks ago)
made more Hankin cocktail cabinets
assembly of WMS MPU boards

3 months later
#2104 1 year ago
Quoted from brucipher:

Well this is interesting, didn't Mike from Homepin say he didn't care at all about the western market, and had no immediate desire or plans to sell his pins in the USA? arket.

im sure that there are many in the USA that have seen the tv show and want to buy the game

if some one want to distribute the games in the US, then why not ship them?

EDIT
it is funny the US distributor is called Great American Pinball

#2118 1 year ago
Quoted from rotordave:

Well, two guys here are waiting for Stern Node boards and after 3 months - nothing.
rd

not all of us can expect personal service calls from Mike

#2122 1 year ago
Quoted from rotordave:

He was at my house last night.

rd

machine now plays well?

#2126 1 year ago
Quoted from o-din:

Rotordave, possibly the only guy on this website that got his Christmas presents and didn't open them until New Years because he was a "tad busy".

nah, just a generous guy
I think he has all New Zealand and half of Australia's pinfans visiting this weekend
and is letting them play first

#2130 1 year ago

let us know when you have a chance to look at the audits, like to know how many games have been played over the weekend

2 weeks later
#2168 1 year ago
Quoted from Chitownpinball:

Some one will color it and it will be epic.
That orange blob just doesnt jive with the rest of the beautifully colored machine art. Thats right, im not even a TB fan and I like this machine a lot. Im not even trying to shit on you sir, I want you to succeed. I just think a color display would have made this whole machine completely pop.

i know nothing of how to colorize a DMD, but would you need to access the conten5s of the game ROM?
which seems dificult with this machine

3 weeks later
#2210 1 year ago

Looks like we will finally get our games in August

wooties

1 week later
#2225 1 year ago

in my opinion, it is rather annoying for those interested in the game to have to play 'hide and seek' and have to chase around the internet for information about the game

1 month later
#2297 11 months ago
Quoted from oldskool1969:

Because he needs all the help he can get I guess to keep the pre-orderers happy.
Good luck with that.

Need to refresh your history my friend

#2307 11 months ago

Why would he ship games to a US show?
I thought the USA was not his target customers

[confused]

#2310 11 months ago
Quoted from PinSinner:

Nitro Pinball wanted them on show.

I want one on show too

#2314 11 months ago
Quoted from PinSinner:

I'm sure it won't be long now Pete...hang in there.

I asked back in early April when production was hoped to start, while I received a reply, I did not get an answer

Quoted from wiredoug:

Yep Nitros' target customers not Homepins.

So, Nitro paid for those two games at the Newcastle show, 4.5 years ago?

EDIT
Sorry, I did not realize that we are still at the prototype stage

2 weeks later
#2320 11 months ago

Lets hope that Hitler does not realize that TAG is not shipping soon
(245 weeks, and counting)

#2322 11 months ago

Darn it
I can only down vote you once

-1
#2364 10 months ago

just got an update from Homepin,
has all the parts, but had to send some back
making pinball macchines is hard
no refunds
still no date on making games

#2381 10 months ago
Quoted from Frantickoala:

The best thing it has going for it compared to a lot of newer machines is that it is more end user serviceable. not a whole lot of SMD chips.

the owner cannot update the software

#2383 10 months ago
Quoted from Frantickoala:

There is a rumor that that might be changing.

there is also a rumor they are shiping in 2015

#2396 10 months ago
Quoted from PinSinner:

This from Facebook:
An explanation of why EOS adjustment is important in a Homepin pinball machine. If not set correctly the flippers won't work correctly and will feel weak.

Why not let Mike promote his machine?

the game is years overdue (and still no delivery date), he will not give refunds
let him do his own promotions

#2401 10 months ago
Quoted from WIKED:

Anyone wanting a refund just has to list their pre-order for sale. It isn't that hard really.

Did that two months ago
the only people slightly interested wanted me to receive the game first, then maybe they would consider buying it

Quoted from mrWol64:

Very interesting video,.. nice to see postive information being distributed.. neg nellies already squirming I see

obviously did not see the latest e-mail from Mike, laying the foundation for the next delay

11
#2403 10 months ago
Quoted from WIKED:

Sorry to hear that Pete. Hang in there.

I (and many others) are just over it
it has been almost 5 years since I paid (in full) for the game
Tired of Mikes attitude
Tired of Mikes BS
not a fan of the art
the pinball world has moved on from orange DMDs
disappointed that the game was not designed by someone with previous experience
disappointed the software is not being done by someone with previous pinball experience
disappointed that it does not seem to use original sound track

#2410 10 months ago
Quoted from Ballypinball:

No disrespect but if Pete was my customer and i was mike, i would just refund him and get him off my back.

the problem with that is i am not the only one looking for q refund
i know of 6 others who have been trying longer than i have
I'm just the loudest

#2419 10 months ago
Quoted from Jvspin:

Lack of LCD makes a game look dated, but it's been only 1.5yrs since Stern released their first LCD game.

and 5 years since Jack did

#2421 10 months ago
Quoted from PinSinner:

I’m sorry, but am I the only one here that thinks these LCD screens are not a big deal? I am yet to play a machine that I enjoy more because it has an LCD screen. IMO, I feel in most of the cases so far it detracts from the experience for me.

sorry but TAG screams for color
that multiball animation would be outstanding in color,

#2427 10 months ago
Quoted from PinSinner:

True. I do quite fancy a colour DMD. I think that was the plan originally, but shit happens. But whether or not it is colour or monotone it is still a DMD with nice and simple animations & visual aids to signify the modes. Easy to see at a quick glance etc.. I struggle with the LCD's a bit because of all the information on screen. I'm sure they'll find the right balance, but give me a simple DMD any day, colour or not.

I did suggest to Mike early on to use Nixie tubes

1 month later
#2561 9 months ago

Seems the first games are on their way.

...to...

...Canada

https://www.facebook.com/NITROPINBALL/

#2566 9 months ago
Quoted from Ballypinball:

Let's hope no repeat of the N word

but there is a word that starts with 'T' that comes to mind

#2567 9 months ago
Quoted from oldskool1969:

Definitely going to be an interesting talk at the up coming Aussie show.

my opinion is that Mike should not be allowed to promote his (extremely tarnished) company until those of us who paid 5 years ago start receiving games

#2573 9 months ago
Quoted from rubberducks:

I'd strongly suggest you get a ramp replacement and fit it before you take it to any more shows, since Mike says that's one of the early ramp designs ... and most of the complaints are about how bad the ramp is. pinballstar
Re: Canada getting them first ... well, he did ship a container right off the bat, and there appears to be pretty major activity now at the factory, so it's not quite like Heighway. Also, I suppose it's possible the pre-order topper isn't ready yet - though those could be shipped separately. I wouldn't panic yet, but if in 2 or 3 months pre-order customers in Australia still haven't got anything, that would be of major concern.

now that Mike seems to be chasing new money, i doubt i will get my game before xmas

#2576 9 months ago
Quoted from Ericc123:

pinballstar I don’t think anyone is comparing it to a JJP or Stern LE but rather a Stern Pro. For around the same cost I don’t think there is even a comparison. Unlike Spooky who has a lot of good will Mike needed to knock it out of the park. Regardless of if the United States was his focus or not the game is lacking compared to a Stern Pro.

its lacking compared to a 1986 Bally

#2579 9 months ago

no Mike, i dont know anything

you have never said that my game has been built, and just awaits shipping

you dont post on Aussie Arcade, or Aussie Pinball, or even Pinside lately
the last email i recieved from HomePin HQ would be in May

#2585 9 months ago
Quoted from oldskool1969:

In all fairness Pete, this is a good thing.
I am sure the bike will be thrown in the bush again on this forum.

i dont care who posts where

Mike/Doug/Whoever, has said that i had been told that my game had been made
i had no such knowledge

i may be an opinionated prick, but i am not a liar

#2590 9 months ago

once again
game, fully paid
chose free freight, fully paid
GST and othe import costs, have not been told this number, so cannot pay

#2592 9 months ago

once again
it has never been communicated to preorder buyers that their games had been built ( until today)
others will agree

#2595 9 months ago

game has been on the market for 5 months, not a nibble

12
#2602 9 months ago

Mike you owe me an apology
you whole rant was based in me knowing that my game was built and just awaited a shipping slot

i did not know this
you have not sent an email since April, and you had not mentioned it on Facebook
the first anyone knew that games had been completed and in the box was the photo of the games being loaded and sent to Canada

other people have contacted me and were similarly in the dark

#2607 9 months ago

hard to know why we preordered and paid up 5 years ago

today, i can contact the aus distributor an get a TAG delivered to my door for $6999 AUSD
five years ago i (and others) paid Mike $5432.10 for a machine, exclusive topper, first machines off the line
still have to pay tax and delivery from china to nearest capital city

now it looks like everybody get the topper, first games will be delivered to Canada
will end up paying for delivery to one capital city, then delivery from there across country, guessing $500 + $250
plus tax $600

Miie has had our money for 5 years, and we saved a couple of hundred dollars

#2614 9 months ago
Quoted from Ballypinball:

Ha pete was that $5432.10 US ex china, or in AUD
It's only $900us to ship a container from china

i should have message you and asked for a rough figure

was AUD

#2616 9 months ago
Quoted from Ballypinball:

Ha pete was that $5432.10 US ex china, or in AUD

another sucky part,
there is a busness a few doors up from me that ships parcels to China, but not from China

#2624 9 months ago
Quoted from Ballypinball:

Pete i would get all the pre order customers together and ship the lot in yourself

i like that idea

Pete's Pies and Pinball

i doo have the space for a container

but i will wait until next week and see what deal highway offers

As expected, the free shipping deal is '****GONE****'

Will never buy another HomePin product

#2644 9 months ago
Quoted from Homepin:

The "free shipping" deal offered by Homepin stands and is EXACTLY the same as it was when first offered.
(1) For pre-order customers Homepin will ship your machine to an Australian port and pay ALL costs associated with export from China and import to Australia. (you will still have to pay Australian GST and local freight to your destination).
(2) Your machine would travel in a Homepin container under the following circumstances:
(A) as part of a shipment already traveling to an Australian customer
(B) when we have room for your machine in one of these containers
This could mean your machine would travel in a months time or it might be a lot longer than that. I don't know as we currently have NO containers booked for Australia but things like this change daily. That's just normal business.
If you want your machine faster please consider the Highway Games offer or the alternate offers put by Homepin (which also still stand), LCL or air freight.

you still owe me an apology

Actually no, that was not the offer you made on April 24
condition 2 and clauses A and B have just been added, they were not part of your original offer

once again you change the rules according to what suits you

#2652 9 months ago

thank you for the offer
i only know of 4 other people rrom victoria who have ordered a game
so i am not sure if it is worth your time

#2663 9 months ago

why not a simple shipping option?
21 games fit in a 20ft container
wayne has quoted $900 to ship a container, lets be generous and make it $3000
plus $1200 for import duties and paper work
that makes $4200
divided by 21, is only $200 per game (plus $600 GST which we pay with any option)

simples

15
#2665 9 months ago
Quoted from Homepin:

Very simple - acting "nice" is just BS and if people are conned by that then more fool them! I tell it how it is and that might upset the snowflakes - tough!
I am doing everything possible to help the (very few) pre-buyers. They inputted about $50K and I put in 5 years of my life and $3M - I think I have the bigger share of say!
I am offering them MORE than was originally agreed and they are crying like little children.
.

lets see now, who is the snowflake that has abandoned Australian Forums and threatens to do the same at pinside?

not my problem how much of your money you have spent, you offered a pinball machine, I paid in full, after almost 5 years and i still do not have my game

what MORE are you offering? more abuse? more condescending attitude?

#2667 9 months ago
Quoted from Retropin:

"I am doing everything possible to help the (very few) pre-buyers. They inputted about $50K and I put in 5 years of my life and $3M - I think I have the bigger share of say!"
What a bizarre statement to make.

how many years did it take for you to learn how to bend neon tubing?
and then telling me I need a 'Strippers' sign rather than 'Hot Pies'

#2677 9 months ago
Quoted from Ballypinball:

As someone who sells 50 of Mikes Hankin Tables a year, and was supportive in both advice and information.
A simple request to attend Flipout 2018 in Melbourne Australia, and received the Melbourne is a wart on the industry that just won't Heal? Response!
He had called me when he was drunk many times telling me he was broke and nobody was buying his game and couldn't afford to build the games without more money, even used up all the money from his wife's life insurance policy.
Then the magical investor comes to the rescue in the image of Highway Games, there are many other resellers of his pinball who have also been shafted by games being shipped with new money.
Last time I checked my business turns over 10 million a year and have more than 3mil in cash in my bank, so if you want to compare assets Mike, happy to do so.
Pete get everyone together and I will get them all picked up and shipped to Melbourne for free, only the GST aka tax will be due
WHY because I am sick of all the Warts on the industry.

that is great

#2693 9 months ago

Thanks to Wayne for his most generous offer
but as we preorder people know, we just cannot win
Mike has now moved the games out of his factory, to the warehouse of his new Australian distributor

Wayne would have got the machines here in 5 weeks
Highway is not currently planning on shipping them

do you people (Homepin/Highway) enjoy upsetting your customers?

EDIT
Mike I know about the special offer for TAG buyers, keep it
Just ship the game

#2696 9 months ago
Quoted from highwaygames:

Pete, Highway has tried to help you since we became involved.
Our office has personally contacted you over a week ago and mentioned we will help you import the machine into Australia, and, help service/support you locally in Australia. We are not here to upset people, and also here not to play games. At our cost, we were looking to help you. The current arrangement is when the machines are ready and released to us, we will contact each pre-order customer and coordinate their shipment. Please understand we are at the beginning stages of the production/shipping cycle, and as we receive machines we will ship best options available. If this is not suitable, you are welcomed to arrange any method you like.
We are not sure where you are getting your information, but Highway does NOT have your machine in our warehouse and when we do receive your cargo we plan to ship as quickly as possible. Please contact Homepin directly and coordinate the release of your machine to any courier/transport company you wish to use.

email from James Shore this afternoon
not enough space at Hhomepin so finished games are being moved to your warhouse

nobody askec for free freight
at $1800 only a fool would airfreight a game

Mike has said it costs $3800 to land a container
$3800 ÷ 21 games is less than $200 per machine
id pay $200 to put this fiasco behind me

#2702 9 months ago
Quoted from Durzel:

Are there 21 Australia based customers waiting though? 21 customers who have chosen free shipping too?
You paying $200 only works if the other 20 customers agree to as well, to pay for the container to be transported. Until that 21st person pays their contribution it's not going anywhere.

I'm offering solutions
Wayne offered a solution
Mike and Highway type alot of words but only offer more waiting

#2704 9 months ago
Quoted from Russell:

Is Mike offering refunds for you pre-order guys? Is that even an option?

nope
i asked for a refund 6 months ago, was told the cutoff date for refunds was in 2014

#2706 9 months ago
Quoted from highwaygames:

- you can arrange your own shipment (ship anyway you like)

that is not true
some of us wanted to our games to ship with Wayne
we have been told by Mike that it is either Highway, or not at all

I am also tired of being slapped in the face
Mike constantly says that first to pay are the people first to get their games
another lie
I paid, in full, five years ago
before any distributors were involved
yet now I have to wait and others will receive their games before me

#2709 9 months ago

Toads, it is OK
as i said last week, Mike is chasing new money
imho, we will see containers geing unloaded in Europe before any of the Aussie distributors get one

#2725 9 months ago

I have more important issues to deal with

#2728 9 months ago
Quoted from spfxted:

WTF!!! Is that real???

yup, i can only count to 18 now

#2730 9 months ago
Quoted from spfxted:

Holy crap! Not sure I should even ask.......

that nothing, you should see the pictures of my leg

#2752 9 months ago

Just as i posted a few days ago
looks like they need to chase new money
Australian games won't come before November/December

#2764 9 months ago
Quoted from 27dnast:

It stinks that people are being passed over... but anyone that preorders must know at this point (unless they’ve been living under a rock) that there’s widely known precident for these preorder manufacturers to beg, borrow, and steal to keep business moving forward. Is anyone really shocked that first shipments don’t align with what was promised? Frankly, just getting production games off the line is a minor miracle...

yes, I have been there before (JJP)
but even as late as last week, Mike was saying that those who pay first will get their games first
I paid, in full, five years ago.
his distributor in Canada will have games for sale to the public soon

#2766 8 months ago
Quoted from MIL:

IF he decides to show up . My money's on a last minute "I'm too busy here at the factory to leave" excuse .
One things for sure anyway . It'll be the last Pinfest that he's commercially invited to .

he will be there, rumour has it that his next two games will be unveiled
if true, I'd say he will be collecting deposits

#2772 8 months ago
Quoted from 27dnast:

I guess that’s the whole point... the only time you really know you’ll get what’s promised, is when a game is in a box and stocked at a warehouse.
.

And i have been told that my game is in a box sitting in a warehouse in China
but there is currently no delivery set up for Australia

#2779 8 months ago
Quoted from 27dnast:

Your distributor has told you that?

i have been told that my game has been built and is sitting in storage
i have been told that unless i want to pay $1800 and get 8t airfreighted, then that is where it will sit until a container is ready to go to Australia, maybe November

#2782 8 months ago

it seems Mike has passed all distribution over to Highway, but they said last week that they have no current plans on bringing over a container

#2785 8 months ago
Quoted from HIPPO:

Homepin, a 100% Australian Owned & Operated Company.

But looks like Australians who like Pete were the first to pre order 5 years ago will be the last in the world to get they're machines.
WTF?

Mike, you type alot but you say nothing
using faux anger to diflect my words is such a transparent tactic

#2824 8 months ago
Quoted from Retropin:

That's not shipping.. that's transferring to another premises so its not sitting in your factory, and if this is true, then the decision NOT to move the machine was made by yourselves... No one else

Thank you for sticking up fo me, but i must face the truth. it me, by my own actions , that has delayed the building of Thunderbirds and the timely shipping of the game to the long suffering preorder buyers

i unreservedly apologize for my actions

#2836 8 months ago

as i have said to others, stop blaming the customer
it REALLY pisses them off

#2842 8 months ago
Quoted from Homepin:

No conspiracy theory, no ducking or weaving, just simple business.

Quoted from Homepin:

(2) Your machine would travel in a Homepin container under the following circumstances:
(A) as part of a shipment already traveling to an Australian customer
(B) when we have room for your machine in one of these containers

was this clause (2, 2A, 2B) included in your shipping e-mail?
Was any time frame mentioned (in regards to free shipping) in your shipping e-mail?

#2857 8 months ago
Quoted from Jvspin:

To me, Mike comes across as a passionate, no BS person who doesn't suffer fools and doesn't play nice just because it would be the "smart" thing to do.
Before he started on Thunderbirds, he would comment on how other manufacturers were doing it wrong and how he could do it better.
Never met him, so don't know if I would like him, but I do respect him for putting his money where his mouth is and for pushing forward through all the set backs and heart ache.

self confidence is important when settung up a business
but it can come across as arogance when things dont go as planned

" a poor tradesman blames his tools"
you should not blame your customers if you dont explain yourself clearly

#2862 8 months ago
Quoted from PopBumperPete:

was this clause (2, 2A, 2B) included in your shipping e-mail?
Was any time frame mentioned (in regards to free shipping) in your shipping e-mail?

Did not think i would get an answer
Mike, rather than read more of your lies and BS, just refund my money and we part ways

#2866 8 months ago
Quoted from Tigers2017:

Mike I'm happy if you can work some magic between with Highway & PopBumperPete where no 46 ends up in my name against my current order... everyone needs to focus on working towards a good positive outcome & amicable outcome for PopBumperPete. It's hard unless you have walked in other peoples shoes & its hard to compromise when it's cutting against your values. Anyway just a thought if it can help & everyone is comfortable .

please understand, at the moment highway has no plan on shipping any games to Australia

#2868 8 months ago

hmmmm
the latest news from the Australian distibutor is that the factory has been closed down and is being relocated
nobody is getting games before xmas

#2870 8 months ago

I feel sorry for Highway (the local distributor)
not only do they have to organize the preorder shipping (which Mike should have done), they now get shafted over who gets games first

#2872 8 months ago

Tigers2017
the problem i have is that has been so much bullshit and bluster from Mike that i dont believe a word he says

Mike has shipped containers (of cocktail cabinets), Highway ships regularly. they can both do it. it is not magic

#2879 8 months ago

@oldsckool, there was no offer of a refund
there is also no free shipping on the table at the moment
Highway is now offering to bring them in for less than $390, but not before xmas

#2887 8 months ago

once again Mike, you blame the customer for your own poor communication

#2889 8 months ago
Quoted from Durzel:

What option are you choosing? Did you ignore the options?

not that it is any of your business, but shipping deals hafe been offered 4 times now and yes i have made my decision

#2891 8 months ago

Mikes original shipping offer that he made in April was;
air freight at $1800, and do all the paperwork
LCL at $600 (not sure if that included taxes and fees), and do all the paperwork
sea freight, free, no paperwork. but there was no mention of special conditions that Mike has added later

#2893 8 months ago
Quoted from JodyG:

Do you happen to have copies of that communication?

yes

if i was lying, Mike could just report me to the moderators and have me ejected from the thread
he knows i am not , so he is trying to bully and bluster his way to quiet me

#2909 8 months ago
Quoted from pinballinreno:

Wow, childish bullying..
Thread drained.

so, what would you do?
i paid for a machine upfront 5 years ago
Mike refuses to refund money
has alterd the deal several times in his favor
has ranted at me over the changes

i would like him to admit some fault in his handling of his customers

#2911 8 months ago
Quoted from cliff_clavin:

If it were me, I would pay for the shipping, get my game and put this behind me. It is well worth the cost of shipping to put the stress and aggravation behind and to get your long awaited machine. Life is too short.
Anyhow that’s just what I would do.

air freight is $1800, plus a day off work to pick is up
sea freight is about $390, and i am willing to pay, but we have been told by the distributor that no containers are coming unti January

#2920 8 months ago

#2937 8 months ago

Once again, the truth is out there

Shipping of games to Australia was not delayed due to;
People not choosing the right shipping method
People not paying imaginary invoices

But due to proper government paperwork not being processed

Mike, I will again give you some advice, stop blaming customers for issues that are under your control. Don’t defame your customers with made up stories. Stop altering contracts in your favor

you mean a third Whitewood

cjmjmm2006,
That's great to hear. Can I ask, are you a pre-order customer that received this machine?
Thanks,
J

he is American
unless you have organized your own shipping, no Aussies have received their game

#3176 6 months ago

IMHO Mike your biggest mistake was to not build a flipping white wood before you left Australia
redesigning playfields over the last year, redesigning the single ramp even now, shows a lack of foresight

A flipping whitewood , with or without basic software, would have shown flaws in the design earlier, and thus you would not have the need to constantly play catch-up

you should have learned from JJP and the failure of his electronics

Mike, this is a genuine invitation. Please consider rejecting all your constraints of being not only a royal subject, but also a Chinese busy beaver subordinate partner and come to the USA! We don't go for others bossing us around quite as much and we swear fealty to no crown and we certainly don't let "local officials" join our growing companies.
Mike, you were born a subject of the crown and you chose to get in bed with communists. Now I invite you to overcome these problems, choose freedom and move your entire operation to the USA!

it has me puzzled

#3659 56 days ago

did highway bring in any preorder machines?

#3667 55 days ago

So many questions as to the plan for this company to keep going with the pinball model.

did you drop a playfield on your head ??????????

#3853 17 days ago
Quoted from benheck:

What boggles my mind is Mike spent what 5 or 6 years setting up a company and making all these parts in China but clearly put very little effort into the actual game design itself. Hell that's the easy part!
It reminds when of when Kevin dragged that POS Predaturd around to every show to scam people out of money yet never made improvements to the game itself. If your ramps are in a bad place no amount of reworking them is going to magically change physics and help the ball up.
There's a decent amount of stuff in TBAG compared to a Stern Pro but the theme + weak PF kills it (weak PF is OK as long as word "Predator" is on cabinet) He even remade the WCS moving target a mech I don't think you can buy anywhere right now. What a waste.

I have said this before, Mike would have been smarter if he had built a flipping whitewood before he left Australia

#3861 17 days ago
Quoted from embryon:

Well not good responses there. So what if homepin ditch pinball games and just manufactures pinball parts. Anyone interested or has tbag hurt that side of the business too let alone the Arcade side. Interested in your thoughts

What parts do you have in mind???
is there much in Thunderbirds that has not had to be redesigned?
is there anything that has gone to plan?
how many times has he had to find a new supplier?

for someone with years of experience dealing in China, he does not really seem to understand the people
