Help! I have a sound board out of a Night Moves that’s killing me. I get game sounds, but no music as long as I don’t have the auxiliary sound board plugged in. I put the sound board on the bench and checked the S4 expansion socket. I’m getting a good clock, data lines, reset etc. on the oscilloscope. When I plugged in the auxiliary sound board I saw the reset line pull low (1.21V) and I get a solid led. I replaced every cap, the mc3403 op amp, the ym3014b and the ym2151 on the auxiliary sound board. I still see the same behavior. If I pull the ym2151 on the auxiliary sound board, the MA886 sound board boots with a blinking led even with the auxiliary sound board attached. I’ve tried several ym2151s and the same behavior occurs. I buzzed all the traces to the ym2151 and everything matches the schematic. I’m at a total loss for where to go next. Any suggestions, thoughts, or advise would be greatly appreciated.
