Hrmm..did not know you could have that much credit on it. Thought 15 was the most...It moves the ballcount, its only the other digit that do garbage. Tried the card in my solar ride, sinbad and pinball pool and crap in everyone. If putting in janinboatd in those games they work like s charm. I think its the original battery on this board. Will try adding more players snd see tomorrow
cheers
Hrmm when I think about it I have never needed to add credits to this card so you are prob right my good sir
As long as the game wont hurt its not really a problem cause I always have freeplay on .
However if I want to go down on credit do I have to finish every game or just add 4 players and then kill the game and add 4 agsin and so on or will it reset every time I boot it up? Is there only one 5101 chip there?
Got a pinball pool, had a bad soundboard. Changed soundboard and it worked. Later I changed the mpu board and everything worked for 2 weeks. Since yesterday I only have the startsound and no bipbops from the gameplay or bonus countdown. Its all quiet when playing. A new bad soundboard? I tried a new driverboard also but no change. Bad luck or somthing thats destroys my soundbords? Can one fix the soundboards?
Quoted from CactusJack:That may be a dirty dip switch. If it can play the start up tune (assuming this is a tone only sound board), then it can make all three tones.
Good catch there
However dipswitch 20 is on..tried it on and of and the same..no sound..how do you "clean" a dipswitch?
Quoted from CactusJack:First, try swapping with one of the other banks. That switch might not be needed.
Otherwise, turn it on and off about 100 times. If that doesn't fix it, time for new.
THANX for the help...turned it on off about 30 times snd sound is back
Another pinball pool question. Everything works greate now but just wondering..
Is the game suppose to count down bonus after all the balls been count out. Seems to count down 3000, 6000 or 9000 so on depending on if you have x2, x3...so on in bonus multiplyer. Its either that or how many times I have hit the 8 ball for what I can see.
I have the game set to 3 balls but with the 5 ball droptarget setting.
Quoted from BorgDog:Once you knock down all the drops and hit the 8-ball (complete the rack) it lights the upper two kick holes to score the bonus when hit and then reset it all and kick your ball back out to continue.
Yes thsts right..but if I dont collect it and drains it gives bonus after all the balls light turned off. Makes me think there is something else giving bonus or it is just crap in a chip or the setting 5ball on a 3ball game. But its not every time but I think its has somthing to do with how many x bonus you have.
What chip handels the bonus countdown?
Another question, do sys 1 and sys 80 have diffrent lenght on their ballshooter rod?
Im getting tired of the system 1 colors
Is there any out of the box colors that match gottlieb sys 1 games. Pritty good on solarride but the blu on countdown was a pain in tha ass and did not really match to 100%
That blue is on pinball pool also.
Did they mix their own colors at the gottlieb factory?

Quoted from CactusJack:I would suspect a bad drive transistor. I think pascal used ULN2803A ICs with 8 drivers per package.
Thanx, will look in to that
Quoted from CactusJack:If using an original System 1 MPU, there is no specific chip. Two of the spider chips have most of the operating system software split between them. Then, the game PROM tells that software what to do with various switch closures.
So, if its not a mater of switch matrix read issues, it could be any of those failing that could effect it.
It was a bad prom
Thanks for the help
Quoted from noflip95:Late reply, but looking at this picture, I thought that it reminded me of something... it was in France, of course
This picture has been taken during the Flip-Expo show 2018 at Le Tréport
I first recognized the engine on the table! But, I also remember that this pretty girl was on our common stand (flipper.fr / flipprojets). I think it was Fabrice (Danny60) who brought her, but I do not know how he got it. On occasion I will ask him for more details.
Some pictures of this show (and the stand where it was displayed) are visible at Pinballnews : https://www.pinballnews.com/site/2018/04/24/flip-expo-2018/
Awsome
I have found a company who can do it for me
Dealing with 2 close encounters. Got a spare door for number 2. Pic 1 and 2 are from the original door. Pic 3 is the spare doore. Any tips to figure out what colors would go where on the pic 3 door. I dont know what machine the spare doore came from so cant read the manual for that game.
20180728_160001 (resized).jpg20180728_160005 (resized).jpg20180728_170916 (resized).jpgI got a Charlies pinballbody, countdown backbox. Is there anything I need to think of? I can only think of the gameover, tilt and shoot again lamp I need to redo. Anything else?
Can someone take a picture of torch toneboard and totem toneboard. I need to see whats printed on the soundrom cause I got awful sound from my torch and I need info on totem cause mine is missing. Any good replacement boards just for the tone?
If a game (solar ride) kills the house fuse directly when turned on where do I start looking then? Cable looks good going into the game. Trafos?
Quoted from german-pinball:Sound-Proms have the same imprint as game-Proms ...

Here is the best replacement board just for the tone, a Pascal Janin master piece:
https://www.flippp.fr/pifx1.php
Can I use a sys 80 soundcard or a gen1 sys 1 soundcard instead?
Otherwise I will buy from janin.
Quoted from Agent_Hero:I figured that was a Swedish word that didn't get translated. Trafos = transformers.
Thanx
Quoted from Agent_Hero:How are the all-in-one boards for System 80? Highly recommended?
Awesome My spiderman is a new game with it
Solar ride issue:
The 2 kickouthole and droptarget coils locks on when turning on the machine. Remove the a1-j7 and its ok. Coils read what I do belive is the correct ohm.
How do I massure what is causing this in the a1-j7
I have tried 2 mpu boards and 2 driver boards...dont know if somthing is killing the driverbord or its somthing else.
Thankful for help

The outholecoil is also on
Quoted from LynnInDenver:Does the tone board also lock on for all three tones? That's on the same solenoid circuit bank as the drop coil, kickouts, and outhole, because Solar Ride supports being retrofitted for chimes.
Check the voltages going to the MPU. You should have 5V and -12V rails. Not having one or both might be enough to cause it to lock on; a failed power supply rebuild I did resulted in the machine locking all computer controlled coils on power up.
Check for loose wires in both sides of the harness between the MPU and the driver. Check continuity between both ends of the harness for each wire. If you haven't, either repin both ends of the harness, or buy a replacement with the inline diodes.
Thank you so much for your help
Bad powersupp was the problem...even though it put out the right voltage :/
Quoted from RWH:Very nice, how do you like the play?
I have one in my collection but had to save this one
I like it slot...a simple but fun gsme
Pindorabox powersupply....Anyone got one..I didnt get any spacers with mine and has no clue how to mount one. They are not very helpful over there..
Quoted from Andreas:If a game (solar ride) kills the house fuse directly when turned on where do I start looking then? Cable looks good going into the game. Trafos?
For info, this was a bad linefilter...replaced it and work like a charm

I could not remove the pics..has nothing with the solution to do..sorry
A1-j2.....from what game did gottlieb decide to change the colorcodes from the standard in the gottlieb 2nd edition service manual? My solar ride hade a cut off a1-j2 so O just copied myvother solarride but get crap in the display. One of the cables differd from the other solarride. Solarride manual has nothing on a1-j2 and the 2nd edition is crap.
I have a new janin all in one in it.
Where do I find info off a1j2?
Quoted from BorgDog:or just rearrange the ones that are there to match a CA instead of Count-Down
yeah will move 1 or 2 and move all gameover and other specific gamelamps
I have displayes that are missing digets..1 on one and 3 on another..I have tried them in other games so guess its the ic's udn6118a
Going to the states soon but live in europe so any tips on where to get them?
Quoted from german-pinball:3 pieces 10 EUR, good price:
ebay.com link » Udn6118a Integrierter Kreis Dip 18 Pack Von 3 Stueck
Thanx..bought them all..hope its not counterfits
Quoted from Robotworkshop:I had a digit out on a display and fixed it by resoldering connections and cleaning the edge connector with a fiberglass pen and pin eraser. Worth looking at before swapping chips.
Thanx Wil try
3 questions on Gottlieb dragon:
1. Is the varytsrget suppose to stay in place after hitting it like on buck rogers or go back after scoring the points. When I got this game I adjusted them so that the varitarget resets directly after it has given me the points. Today I stsrted to think that maybe they are suppose to stay in place?
2. I looked at scorecard and in manual, Cant really figure out what lights up the extra ball. Suddenly I have extraball and special alternating and I dont know how I did it. Manual and scorecarfs does not mention anything about how to light extraball.
3. Can someone take a pic on the cables that goes to left bumpers lampholder. Thos one was missing a lampholder and the cabels are loose under playfield.
Cheers and thanks
20180912_194655 (resized).jpgQuoted from BorgDog:2. See on the bonus at 6000 and 8000 where it says lites left target and lites right target? those are what light the extra ball lights (by the targets). The 7000 is what does the special as it says.
1. Yes, pretty sure it is supposed to reset the vari after scoring.
2. Yeah I got confused here. Buck Rogers varitarget stays in place but this makes more sence if it resets after you hit it and not only after ball drainging. Buggerd..heard diffrent from 4 guys now
Quoted from BorgDog:2. See on the bonus at 6000 and 8000 where it says lites left target and lites right target? those are what light the extra ball lights (by the targets). The 7000 is what does the special as it says.

Hahahaha how did I miss that...It was just in front of my eyes...embarrasing
Does it matter if I change the cables on the popbumper lampsocket. Someone has done the worst job and I cant see witch of the lampsocket side that will have 2 cabels to one lug. Cant find it in the Dragon manual.
Quoted from CactusJack:New blades are not available. Only source is to part out old rotos.
Steve at Pinball Resource has them but will no longer ship them out, only uses to repair what is sent in.
Since you are outside the USA, hopefully someone can supply you with a used blade. Drill rivets, repin with new. (Steve has the Rivets too.)
Buggerd...Ok then I will have to manufacter it myself. I have 2 gsmes with rototargets. Is it common that they brake? Maybee I can use parts from a standup target?
Close encounters problem. Never had this problem before. All coils are non working. Game boots up. no 5 second click due to all coils dead. You can start a game if ball not in outlane (otherwise offcourse it say stuck switch due to non working coil). No sound in the game. I have a janin all in one in it. Bridge rectifiers are all good. Fuses are good. So all controlled and non controlled coils are not working. Bad transformer?
Also a question about displays. Displays are recharged, looks good when everything says 000000 but when the janin flashes topscores and so on then the segments that are supposed to be dark is a bit light up...this is for all displays

The tilt pendelum does not work. Correct me if Im wrong but you dont need the switch connected for the tilt pendelum to work do you?. None of the colors that should go to the missing switch goes to the tilt pendelum. What can cause a tilt to not work on a solar ride? a diod? I have janin all in one installed.
cheers
Screenshot_20180924-202939_Messenger (resized).jpgJoker Poker no chime sound. Recrimped the contacts, tested with 2 diffrent janinboards, tested with 2 diffrent chime units. New coils and diods on chime unit. When doing test the 10 and 100 works but not the 1000. When playing a game no sound at all. What am I missing?
Pinball pool left droptargetbank wont reset, its nothing mechanical. Game is like brand new on all levels including .156 connectors in housings. I did meassure the under playfieldtransistor but its a brand new so know thats not the one. Tried with other cpu and driverboards. Have a new powersupp intalled. Was unsure when b-relay is going to be activated so took a broken janincard and did drivertest...b relay clicked so cant be that. I have volts to every lug on the coils, b relay, fuse and transistor. Meassuerd coils and they are all ok.Still no reset. Done the usual before bootup check. Everything is really nice and shiny. The left droptargetbank work as it should just not resetting.
Any tips
Quoted from Inkochnito:B-Relay is only for the drop target memory coils, not the reset coils.
Check Q17 (L17) on the driver board.
Check connector A3J5-1.
Did try with another driverboard that works on another pinball pool and the same. A3j5-1 is like new. Should I jumpwire from a3j5-1 to where?
Quoted from Inkochnito:If you changed board and nothing changes, it has to be the playfield.
Did you add a pull-up resistor?
It might not change the problem, but it is highly recommended.
You can try something a bit harder to test the driver board.
Disconnect the base of the transistor and add a lamp in its place.
One side of the lamp connected to the 6V of the other controled lamps.
The other side to the base wire.
The Q37 should turn on the lamp.
If that is true, replace the transistor under the playfield.
Awsome. Thanx for the tip . No I havent added a pull up transistor. Im back at the workshop tomorrow sp will continue then.
cheers
Posted this out in tech early before but think I need you guys for this.
I have a new pinball pool...Man its killing me. For 2 month now I have been trying to get the left droptargetbank to work. I have done EVERYTHING. Changed the under playfieldtransistor 2 times. Changed one of the coil and diod just in case. Diods and coils are ok and meassure good. There is continutity to all the wiers conneted to the transistor and the coils and to the driverboard. Tried with 3 diffrent driverboards, 2 diffrent cpu. I have a new powersupply. Groundmods done. .156 edge connectors are like new in it..heck the whole game look factory new. When aligatorclipping from the coils on the right droptarget bank to the nonworking left and by aligatorclipping I mean from white/orange to red/white on the coils it works so coils is ok. I have played 5 games like this hijacking the other coils. Im thinking of doing this to a permanent hack..what is the worst that can happen? It worked like a charm. Both banks resets...Is the worst thing that can happen that the transistor on the driverboard that controlls the right bank burns up?..I have attached som pics of the under playfield transistor..Im 99,99 that it is mounted the right way. I really cant find whats wrong...done 2 pinball pools before and then it was enough to change the transistor. The fuse snd fuseholder for dt is ok. I use 2n5884g transistor under playfield and according to marco and bestofpinball this is an ok replacement.
On my joker poker one of the aces and one of the kings givs lot of points and then resets the droptargets even though all are not down. It gives 2010 points when dropping and then ends up on 7010 when resetting that bank. No diffrent with groundmods done. Its the far right acetarget and the king furthest down. What chip on the mpu should I look into and meassure? Really odd
Cheers
Quoted from Insane:I would look at the switches on the drops. are they making good connection, I had one that wasn't tight enough, so as I flipped, it would "bounce" and continue to give out points. are they too tight, so the game thinks they are already down?
Switches looks ok with an ok gap
Quoted from Mad_Dog_Coin_Op:Check the little diode boards on the bottom of the playfield. My guess one of them is bad. Common problem on the old Gottliebs.
The all meassure .223 to .255
A1-j7 is repinned and groundmods done.
Even put in a working janin mpu and still the same. It does reset the drops kings and aces when for example 3 of them is down..and its always the same.
They score diffrent and when one target is down one of the others does not score..always the same..but score if the otherone is up.
Quoted from RWH:Check A1-J7 closely and make sure all in the right place, same with the ground mods.
Even though manual says so its not missing any cabels..looked at pinrepairs joker poker and A1-J7 looks like mine.
I did put in a fully working mpu from janin and still problems with the droptargets resets before everytning is down. So did his switchtest and see that if one of the black aces falls it registerd the other like fallen but its not..the same with the black kings. What in the heck is going on here. The diods meassure between 0.223 to 0.256 so Im pritty sure they are good. What is the common link between the 2 black cards in the diffrent droptargetbanks?(Kings and Aces).
Once again..ground is done, diods meassures good, voltage from powersup is good and a1-j7 repinned.
Quoted from Inkochnito:Check the switch matrix and if there are more switches missing.
http://www.pinballrebel.com/pinball/cards/Tech_Charts/Gottlieb_Joker_Poker_Tech_Chart.pdf
A1J7 looks fine.
From what I can tell everything looks ok...hrm..at least on the drops. Maybee Im missing somthing on diodplate?

Original bord still strange but tired on it so will prob buy another janin..thanks everyone.
GOTTLIEB CIrcus...I do own Genie and have the oppertunity to buy Circus. When looking on it it looks really similar to genie wich makes me hesitat. So is it much like Genie or is it a go for it?
Display 3 and 4 is dead on my spidey. Recrimped connectors to board (Janin all in one). Tried with working displays without any luck. Payer 1 and 2 works fine and also creditdisplay. Where do I go from here? recrimp display connections? The look ok.
Quoted from Andreas:Display 3 and 4 is dead on my spidey. Recrimped connectors to board (Janin all in one). Tried with working displays without any luck. Payer 1 and 2 works fine and also creditdisplay. Where do I go from here? recrimp display connections? The look ok.
Was a pin in wronh place since before I got it
Picking it up tomorrow..founda backglass I will buy next weekend
Freaking bad made coffetable. Gonna be fun to make it a game sgain
Spiderman..right flipper burns 24vac coil fuse. As fast as touching the cabinet button it blows.
Changed coils, diods, cabinet switch and bridge rectifier...it blows direct when pushing it. Its on a spiderman. Where do I go from here?
Could eos switches do this?
Game works when playing without touching right flipper. all the other coil works.
Quoted from Inkochnito:Yes, they could if wired incorrectly.
Thanx...works now..wrong wire
